Press Release: Peshawar Northern ByPass plan Reviewed for Expediting Progress

Peshawar, May 11, 2020: A review meeting of the Planning & Development Department held today under the Chairmanship of Mr Shakeel Qadir Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here in Peshawar. The meeting, attended by the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Muhammad Ali Asghar and representatives of other concerned departments, reviewed detailed progress on Peshawar Northern Bypass Package 2, 3A and 3B.
30.5 KM long Peshawar's Northern ByPass project consists of four packages including package 1 (7.6km), package 2(11.9km), package 3A(5.38km) and package 3B(5.19Km). Package 1 is fully completed and functional for traffic while funds for package 2 will be provided soon by the DC Peshawar.
Package 3A consists of the road from Warsak to Nasir Bagh. It has been decided to expedite progress on all outstanding work by NHA and PDA. The ACS also accorded approval for pending for possession of 126 Kanal land required by the PDA. A plan of action will be decided for 93 Kanal after the court judgement. Furthermore, the government is also ready for possession of another 171 kanal. The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar will conduct a review of problems and issues faced by the tribal people coming under the limits of the northern bypass. Required land of 200 kanal will also be decided soon for package 3B.
It is expected that the completion of the northern bypass project will resolve traffic issues of Regi lalma, Hayatabad, Khyber bypass. The ACS Shakeel Qadir Khan ordered respective departments for expediting work on the project. It was decided to hold another progress review meeting soon after Eid.
