The 22nd meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party approved projects worth Rs. 57 billion. Approval was given in the meeting of PDWP chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr Shahab Ali Shah.
On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr Mahmood Khan, projects worth Rs. 10 billion were approved for construction, rehabilitation and improvement of roads and bridges in the integrated districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The forum approved 54 projects related to C&W, health, higher education, irrigation and social welfare for the betterment of the province. The meeting was attended by relevant departments and members.
Approved projects include the supply of clean drinking water and solarisation in the public health engineering sector in Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand and Malakand districts. In the Local government sector construction of Parking Plaza in Mingora District, Swat District. In the field of irrigation, rehabilitation and solarization of water supply schemes in the tribal districts of Bajaur, Khyber and Mohmand, while rehabilitation and solarization of irrigation water supply schemes in FR Peshawar and Kohat. In District Mardan construction of union council in Ghalla Dheer, Mohabbatabad Hoti, Par Hoti, Sikandari and Gali Bagh and improvement of roads, flood protection works, culverts and drains.
Construction of irrigation tube wells, lift irrigation schemes and solarization of existing irrigation tube wells in integrated areas, construction and improvement of irrigation channels in integrated districts and construction of check dams and reservoirs, small dams and power section, and for FATA field activities Establishment of Project Support Unit to oversee field activities.
For the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa water resources Project Readiness Financing. In the field of sports and tourism, the establishment of playgrounds in Swat Matta and Shamozai districts. In the field of Higher Education establishment of Government Girls Degree Colleges in District Buneer Shal Banda, District Abbottabad Galyat and Lowara and district Charssada Shabqadar. Improving the impact of the Swat University of Engineering and Applied Sciences projects.
Through meteorological resilience horticulture projects in the agriculture sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Establishment of Model Dairy Farm in North Waziristan District. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plans to increase rice production capacity. Culturally Wasteland Development and Solarization of Existing Agricultural Tube and Open Well in Newly Integrated Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PC-I to upgrade Gomal University’s Faculty of Agriculture to DI Khan University.
Establishment of Forest Knowledge Parks in Southern Districts and EPA Offices in Integrated Districts in the Forestry Sector.
Establishment of Category D Hospital in Health Department in Swat District, Mangalore. Establishment of 120 Family Welfare Centers in existing health facilities of integrated areas.
Strengthening the Department of Minerals in the field of Mines and Minerals. Geological Mapping of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Diagnostic study and establishment of Mines Monitoring and Surveillance Units in Mining Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Establishment of Crisis Management Cell in FATA Secretariat related to Home. Construction of 7-km road from Main Sawabi Road to Bushkali Interchange. Feasibility study to make the existing road to Mardan two-lane. Construction of new roads and bridges in integrated areas based on necessity. Construction of Eidgah and funeral spots and purchase of land.
