7th PDWP Held on 8th November 2024

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to the uniform development of the province. The PDWP meeting approved development projects worth more than 33 billion. The seventh meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan. These projects were approved in light of the development vision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur for the welfare of the province’s people. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and officers of the concerned departments.

The forum approved important projects related to agriculture, food, health, education science and technology, and information technology for the development of the province.

Financial assistance and scholarships for minorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, construction of Eid houses and funeral homes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, purchase and construction/rehabilitation of land for cemeteries for minorities, improvement and maintenance of mosques and Darul Uloom/religious schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Hafiz Ji, the plan of building a mosque was approved.

Projects related to the education sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also approved in the meeting, in the establishment of science labs and the upgradation of middle schools in the merged areas, the establishment and construction and upgradation of primary, middle, and high schools in Upper Swat were also approved. Establishment of primary schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upgradation of high schools to higher secondary level based on need, improvement in plans to upgrade primary schools to middle, middle schools to high level, feasibility study and establishment of Swat Model School, Upgradation of primary schools to middle level in merged districts, provision of funds for land compensation of Model School Mansehra are also among the approved projects. Land purchase for flood-damaged schools Funds for land compensation of GGHS Kamboh Peshawar Capacity building program for college faculty Establishment of government colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for students from annexed areas Provision of stipends and scholarships, strengthening of the planning cell of the Higher Education Department are also among the approved projects. Among the approved projects in the field of science and information technology are the establishment of Pilot Citizen Facilitation Center in Peshawar, the establishment of CFCs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Merged Areas Digital Connect, Digital Economy and Skill Center Feasibility Study.

Among the projects related to construction and development, the construction and feasibility study of the road from Karak Garand Siraj Khel to Khawra, provision of land compensation money in respect of Government Polytechnic Institute Mansehra, construction of rest house at Shangla Top in Shangla district, It includes repair and widening of Mardan Paharpur Canal Road, construction and rehabilitation of various roads in DI Khan, construction of roads and bridges as per requirement.

The approved projects related to the health sector include the setting up of Breast Cancer Screening Centers in the Northern and Southern regions of Pakhtunkhwa, the Trama Center at Lucky Marwat DHQ Hospital. Feasibility study and detailed design of detention dams in Swat Bala, construction of protective wall in POF Sultanpur Haveliyan district Abbottabad, and construction projects of Siti Kali Dam Bannu district were also approved in the PDWP meeting.

Computerization work will also be done in District Arms Licensing and security of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Spinal Route. Concept notes for the construction of a 120 km transmission line for a hydropower project in Swat Valley, strengthening of the planning cell of the tourism and sports department, and agricultural development projects in Mohmand district were also approved in the meeting.
