The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has crossed another milestone under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, with the launch of the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap. A ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday to launch the roadmap. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended the ceremony as the chief guest and officially launched the roadmap. Provincial cabinet members, senior government officials, representatives of partner institutions and journalists attended the ceremony. This roadmap includes goals related to good governance, best security system and smart development, these goals will be achieved in the next two years. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, while addressing the ceremony, paid tribute to the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and their entire team for the preparation and launch of the Good Governance Roadmap. He said that this roadmap has been prepared after a careful review of the governance situation in various sectors in the province during the last 15 months, in which the provincial government’s key priorities in the areas of governance, development and security have been determined. Moreover, clear targets have also been set for achieving these priorities. The Chief Minister said that this roadmap will be an effective measure to evaluate the performance of departments and institutions as well as government officers. Under the roadmap, a system of punishment and reward will be formulated for government officers based on their performance. The promotion and posting transfers of officers will also be based on their performance. Ali Amin Gandapur said that through this roadmap, in addition to improving service delivery in the province, transparency and merit will also be ensured in the system. The implementation of this roadmap will significantly improve governance in the province. Ali Amin Gandapur said that there is always room for improvement, the effort is to make service delivery in line with public needs and expectations, the good governance roadmap will play a key role in implementing our vision. He clarified that this is basically a governance roadmap, service delivery, security and development are all part of it. The Chief Minister said that it is very important to have a system of punishment and reward to improve governance. He added that this roadmap has been prepared with great effort, the participants should also give their suggestions so that it can be further improved. The Chief Minister said that his government has worked to make full use of the potential sectors during the last 15 months, we all have to work together to deal with all the challenges including governance and security. Earlier, while informing the participants about the details of the proposed goals under the good governance roadmap, 12 sub-sectors have been identified for the improvement of the governance sector. Appointments and transfers will be based on performance. Provincial action plans will be implemented for strong and excellent security, while under the goal of smart development, timely completion of mega projects will be ensured and funds will be provided for the projects on a priority basis. In addition, measures to promote investment are also included in the goals. Significant targets have also been set in the relevant sectors for the effective achievement of the desired results of the roadmap. In the health sector, 250 basic health centers and rural health centers will be upgraded and made functional for maternity 24/7. A target has been set to ensure 100 percent availability of medicines in all hospitals. In the education sector, a target has been set to reduce the number of out-of-school children by 50 percent. Similarly, scholarships and equipment will be given to ten thousand special people, while a digital welfare registry will be launched. Agricultural development has also been included as an important goal of the roadmap. Under the Public Private Partnership, targets have been set for the development of 571 acres of Harichand Dairy Farm, vaccination of 90,000 livestock and planting of 1,000 high-quality fruit orchards. In addition, two million wild olive plants will be grafted. Four new economic zones of Daraban, Mohmand, Bannu and Karak will be activated and 32 technical training institutions will be upgraded. Furthermore, under the roadmap, work will be started on the DI Khan-Peshawar Motorway, the Peshawar New General Bus Stand and Northern Bypass projects will be completed, solid waste management will be improved in important districts and 70 parks will be upgraded. In addition, four mineral zones will be established. 14,000 residential plots will be developed in New Peshawar Valley and 130,000 low-income households will be shifted to solar energy. More than 50 new tourist centers and 25 sites will be developed in the tourism sector, a homestay program will be launched in seven tourist districts. More than 100 services will be provided online for the convenience of the public. A comprehensive and effective monitoring system will be in place for the implementation of the roadmap, implementation will be reviewed through quarterly meetings at the Chief Minister’s House, while the Chief Secretary’s Office will itself monitor institutional reforms and administrative performance.
