PDWP meeting approves 42 development projects worth over Rs 140 billion
On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, various projects worth over Rs 50 billion were approved in the health sector. Approval has been given to construct two hostels for male and female students in Bannu Medical College. A project to construct Cath Labs in various hospitals at a cost of Rs 19 billion has been approved to provide the best medical facilities to the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa based on the need.
A project to improve the district headquarters hospitals at a cost of Rs 7 billion has been approved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A project to increase the capacity of district headquarters hospitals to deal with any epidemic diseases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been approved at a cost of Rs 8.75 billion.
A project to improve secondary health facilities in merged districts, including emergency units, has been approved.
A project of Rs 1 billion has been approved for the construction of flood protection works in Upper and Lower Dir. With the completion of the project, 583 acres of agricultural land, 25 civil irrigation channels and other infrastructure will be protected from floods, including floods, and 113,400 people will benefit from it.
The Marwat Canal System Phase 1 in Lakki Marwat has been approved at a cost of Rs 1 billion. The agricultural land of Bannu and Lakki Marwat will benefit from the said canal system. The canal system will provide water to 170,000 acres of land and the livelihood of the local population of these areas will improve.
Approval has been given to establish a Center of Excellence for special children affected by autism at the divisional level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The twelfth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lieutenant (Retd) Islam Zeb.
The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of the relevant departments. The forum approved 42 important projects related to MSD, sports, local government, social welfare, excise and taxation, and irrigation for the development of the province.
The approved projects include improvement of existing sump wells, pump house district-5(A) and improvement of Takkar Wah and Kot Hafeez districts in DI Khan district, construction of flood protection works in Upper and Lower Dir, feasibility study and detailed design of Gambella Lift Canal, rehabilitation of Marwat Canal System – Phase I, National Programme for Improvement and Laying of Waterways in erstwhile FATA, flood protection works in Tehsil Swabi, Topi and Lahore, improvement and construction of channels, drains, roads, bridges, causeways and installation of solar tube wells, construction of check dams and reservoirs in merged districts and construction of small dams in Baz Ali Small Dam District Kurram, Ningolai Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PK-36 Mansehra, Chapra Rehana Haripur, Noor Di Rehana Haripur, Kotka Besakhel Bannu, Amangarh Nowshera, In-house feasibility studies for establishment and construction of BHUs in Namli Mira Abbottabad, Darwishabad Bakt Abbottabad, Mian Isa and Mira Akora Tehsil Jahangira Nowshera, Azakhel Bala Nowshera, Sharer Ahmed Wali Gai Domel Bannu, Mira Kachori Peshawar, Dil Bori Mansehra, Lodikhel Hangu, Shani Duba Torghar, Kalash Torghar, Elm Buner based on need, establishment of two hostels in Bannu Medical College, establishment of Cath Labs in various hospitals of the province based on need, redevelopment of non-teaching DHQs, strengthening of DHQ hospitals, strengthening of 12 DHQ hospitals, rehabilitation of secondary health facilities including improvement of accident and emergency units in newly merged districts, construction of buildings in Tehsil Haripur, Shabqadar, Charsadda and Bakkhail Bannu, feasibility of Tehsil Judicial Centers in 5 selected districts Studies and construction, procurement of equipment including scanners for Anti-Narcotics Control Unit, rehabilitation and solar powering of existing drinking water supply projects in Bajaur district under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project, District Complex Ghalnai in Mohmand, Tehsil Complex in Safi area, Tehsil Complex in Kale area of Orakzai, Tehsil Complex Upper Kurram in Parachinar area of Kurram, Tehsil Complex in Sadda area of Kurram, District Complex in Parachinar area of Kurram, Tehsil Complex in Mir Ali, Tehsil Complex in Ghaljo area of Orakzai, DI Khan, FR, Sub-Division Dara Zinda, Tehsil Complex Razmak, Feasibility studies to explore the possibilities of wildlife conservation in Khyber district, Construction of drinking water supply and sanitation projects in the central districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar and Mansehra, various union councils of Abbottabad Kahal, Central Urban, Malikpura, Nawan Shahr-e- Water supply projects in Sheikhol Bandi, Kakol, Mirpur, Banda Pir Khan and Cantt area, Water supply project in Lora and Bakut area of Abbottabad, Water supply and sanitation project in Galiyat and Lora area of Abbottabad, Beautification and uplifting of several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Chitral Lower, Chitral Upper, Swat, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan Upper, Kohistan Lower, Battagram, Mansehra, Torgarh, Abbottabad, Kolai Palace and Haripur Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank and DI Khan, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar and Nowshera, Improvement of infrastructure, monuments, street lights and green spaces under beautification and uplifting in merged districts including Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar and Nowshera, Improvement of water supply system in urban areas of merged districts, Construction of public park in Swabi, Establishment of a municipal committee and provision of services in Bara Bazar Khyber, establishment of a Petroleum Technology Institute, Chief Minister’s Skills Development Program
