The third day of the consultative meeting on the annual development program for the year 22-2021 held in the Planning and Development department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Today’s meeting reviewed the annual development program of the Departments of Tourism and Culture, Relief and Rehabilitation, Transport, Industries, Interior, Law, Board of Revenue and Energy.
Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Shakeel Qadir Khan met with Ms. Patricia McPhillips Director UNESCO Pakistan. The meeting discussed areas of mutual interest (education, climate change, cultural heritage & tourism) and future development cooperation.
The Bank of Khyber opens Corporate & Commercial Raast Islamic Banking Branch at Industrial Estate Hayatabad, Peshawar. Honorable Additional Chief Secretary Govt of KP & Chairman BOK Board of Directors Mr.Shakeel Qadir Khan was the chief guest on the occasion, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by Senator Mohsin aziz along with other leading industrialist from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Secretary Finance KP & BoK officials.
The Raast Islamic Banking Corporate & Commercial Banking branch will provide financing facilities to all growing businesses in the industrial estate.

Line Departments from South Waziristan District participating in Training on Public Procurement and Contract Management at District HQ. Training is part of a program to develop capacity of district administration and line departments in Public Procurement and Contract Management under Governance & Policy Project for Merged Areas. Total 31 Officials including 2 women from C&W, Health, Education, Local Government, Irrigation, Forest, Tehsil Municipal Administrations, Food, PMRU and District Administration are participating in the training.
Total of seven (08) trainings including One Orientation/ Launching Workshop and six (07) district level trainings are including in the program. So far 192 including 19 women Officials from Merged Areas have participated in Six (06) three days long comprehensive trainings delivered in collaboration with KP PPRA.
Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan met with Ms. Emanuela Benini, Director Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). Promotion of heritage & culture, archeology, sustainable and responsible tourism and support to agriculture sector in Khyber Pakhtunkwa came under discussion.
2nd Batch of Training on Monitoring & Evaluation in progress for Public Officials BPS 17 and above at LUMS, Lahore.
25 Officers including 7 Female Officers of Provincial Government preferably dealing with Merged Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are participating in the Five (05) days long comprehensive training on Monitoring & Evaluation through Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS), Lahore.
This training is part of program under Governance & Policy Project, Merged Areas for developing capacity of officials in Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and Development Planning through IBA Karachi, LUMS, Lahore and Pakistan Institute of Management, Islamabad. A total of 150 government officials including 32 women have participated in 6 trainings sessions.

Preparatory Meeting for the upcoming 10th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) on CPEC held at the Planning and Development Department today. The consultative meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary P&D discussed CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Portfolio & Framework.
With the emphasis on trade, socio-economic development, people to people contact and knowledge sharing, CPEC would be a real driver of change & will be a gateway for progress and prosperity for a bright future.
