After completion of Dial Road Dera Ismail Khan underground drainage work, the completion work of the road has been completed.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is monitoring the ongoing development projects in the integrated districts of Bajaur, Mohmand, Waziristan and other tribal areas for timely completion of the projects for which the authorities are conducting field visits to different areas.
Shakeel Qadir Khan, a Grade 21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Services, has been posted as Chief Secretary, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Shakeel Qadir Khan is known in government and social circles for his ability and intelligence. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Kazim Niaz presented honorary shield to Shakeel Qadir Khan today.
Shakeel Qadir Khan has served in key positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the 2005 earthquake, 2010 floods, IDP management, reconstruction of insurgency-affected areas in Malakand and the former tribal areas and other emergency situations, and in recent days as Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At the same time, Shakeel Qadir Khan has also served in high positions in Balochistan. Shakeel Qadir Khan Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, Political Agent Bajaur, Chief Economist, DGP PDMA, Secretary Relief and Resettlement Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Secretary P&D Balochistan, Chairman Balochistan Development Authority, Secretary Law and Order FATA, Secretary P&D FATA , Home Secretary and Finance Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Shakeel Qadir Khan is considered to be one of the hard working and capable officers.
| The 22nd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Shakeel Qadir Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 26th May, 2021 through video link. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum considered 29 schemes pertaining to Water, Health, Local Government, DWSS, Sports & Tourism, Multi Sectoral Development, Relief & Rehabilitation, Agriculture, Higher Education, E&SE and Roads sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 28 schemes with an estimated cost of Rs. 18162.360 million. 1 scheme of PSDP was also cleared by the forum. 1 scheme was deferred due to deficiencies in project documents/PC-I and was returned to the respective department for rectification. | ||

Shakeel Qadir Khan of Grade 21 Pakistan Administrative Services Farewell Meeting with Officers and Staff of Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Shakeel Qadir Khan of Grade 21 has been given the new responsibility of Chief Secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He was leading the development plan of the province
New Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah took charge. A high level meeting at the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave a detailed briefing to Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the annual development program for the year 2021-22.
The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D, Special Secretary, both Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretary Admin and Section Chiefs.
Consultative meeting continues to finalize Annual Development Program 2021-22 in Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Kazim Niaz was briefed on Annual Development Program. Â Additional Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa P&D Secretary Amir Sultan Tareen, Special Secretary P&D Abid Wazir, DG SDU Bakhtiar Khan and other senior officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was informed that the completion of ongoing development projects in the next annual development program is being given first priority. New development projects are also being launched on the basis of need. The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also reviewed the accelerated development program of integrated districts. The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Additional Chief Secretary were also briefed on the progress and performance of the departments so far on the Annual Development Program 2020-21.
A special meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 10th June 2021 through a video link. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum considered 02 schemes pertaining to Urban Development and Multi-Sectoral Development sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum cleared 01 scheme of Urban Development sector for onward submission to the Federal Government while approved the other scheme of Multi-Sectoral Development sector at an estimated cost of Rs. 99,122.384 million.
Cleared scheme of the Urban Development sector is âKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (ADB Assisted)â.
The approved scheme of the Multi-Sectoral Development sector is âBlock provision for projects to be funded from 10% oil & Gas royaltyâ.
A series of consultative meetings of all provincial departments chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan has been completed to finalize the annual development program. The three-day consultative meetings reviewed the proposed annual development program of all the departments separately. Apart from Ministers of Provincial Departments, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Administrative Secretaries of Provincial Departments, concerned officials of the Department of Planning and Development and Finance also attended the meetings.
In these consultative meetings, after reviewing in detail the total cost of proposed development projects of all departments and other matters for inclusion in the next Provincial Annual Development Program including Accelerated Implementation Program for Integrated Districts, these proposed projects are included in the Annual Development Program. The allocation of funds for them in the new development budget was also finalized with some necessary modifications. In these consultative meetings, in addition to the proposed new projects to be included in the next annual development program, important decisions were taken in this regard after careful consideration of the allocation of funds for ongoing development projects and other issues.
The Chief Minister said that the completion of ongoing development projects in the province and especially near completion projects was the top priority of his government and that most of the development budget should be allocated for the completion of ongoing development projects so that the completion of these projects in the next two years is ensured and the people can benefit from the fruits of these development projects without delay. He said that new development projects based on the needs of the people would also be included in the next annual development program. He said that the next annual development program would include projects that would have a direct and immediate positive impact on the lives of the people, with a special focus on education and health. However, no sector will be overlooked. The Chief Minister said that despite the difficult financial situation due to the Corona pandemic, no compromise would be made on development works and public welfare projects and the new budget would try to provide maximum relief to the common man. The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities that the next annual development program should be realistic, in line with the objective conditions of the province and the needs of the people in all respects.
Regarding the priority sectors of the provincial government for the next annual development program, it was informed that health, education, tourism, energy, water resources, agriculture, housing, drinking water, industry, urban development, and communication are the priority sectors of the provincial government. Billions of rupees will be allocated for the projects.
