Ehsaas Apna ghar Scheme

Inaguration of Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme By KP Government

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took a great initiative to provide quality accommodation to the province’s low-income residents. For this purpose, an MoU is signed between Housing Department and the Bank of Khyber to implement the scheme called” Ehsaad Apna Ghar”.

The ceremony of signing MoU was held in CM House. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was the chief guest, provincial cabinet members Dr. Amjad Ali khan and Muzamal Aslim, officials of related departments and board members of Bank of Khyber were present at the occasion.

Under the scheme, low-income people will be given interest-free loans of up to 15 lakh rupees for the construction of a new house or extension and repair of an existing house. The scheme will cost Rs 4 billion.

A simplified schedule of 7 years has been suggested for repayment of loans. The maximum monthly installment of loan repayment will be up to 18 thousand rupees. This scheme will continue for the next 7 years under the revolving funds system. To avail loans under this scheme it is necessary to have own land.

“The provision of quality housing facilities to the people is among the priorities of the present provincial government, the launch of “Ehsaas Apna Ghar” scheme is an important link in this chain, this is another welfare project of the present provincial government, “ Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said.

“Under this program, interest-free loans will be provided to impart quality housing facilities to the low-income people of the province, the implementation of this program will not only provide low-income people with quality housing facilities but also improve their social, and economic conditions”, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said.

“Transparency should be ensured in all respects in the process of providing interest-free loans under the scheme, it should be ensured that these loans are given only to the entitled people, the provincial government has also started other welfare projects under the Ehsaas program. These projects include Ehsaas Young, Ehsaas Hunar and Ehsaas Roozer”, the chief minister said.

2nd SCM of the Multi-Sectoral Coordination Mechanism for the Prevention of GBV

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Multi-Sectoral Coordination Mechanism for the Prevention of GBV was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the meeting, various activities under the project were reviewed, and the way forward was discussed.
The Additional Chief Secretary highlighted the significant progress made by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in combating GBV through comprehensive legislation.
Representatives from relevant departments and sections of P&D attended the meeting.

8th PDWP Meeting Held on 12th December 2024

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to the uniform development of the province, the PDWP meeting approved the development projects worth more than 40 billion.

The eighth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan. In it, projects like the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, interest-free loans of up to 15 lakh rupees to provide quality housing to low-income people, were approved. A plan of 4 billion rupees was approved for the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme.

Members of PDWP and officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting. The forum approved 32 important projects related to agriculture, tourism, health, social welfare, and sports for the development of the province.

Development projects of various sectors are the following:

In the meeting, approval was given for the dualization of the road from Sheikh Yusuf Adda to Mandira Bridge, Dera Ismail Khan. Improvement of Main GT Shuzai Hangu Road, Hangu District was also approved. Land acquisition plan for Swat Motorway Phase II under PSDP was also approved. The meeting also approved the construction of Kachhari Chowk to Shaheen Plaza Bannu Road Kohat.

Approval was given for widening and improvement of road from Beer to Kalangir on Haripur-Chapar road section of PKHAK (17 km).

Approval for maintenance and improvement of Tilpara Chinar Road in Karam District, approval for extension of Makin Chaleria Road,

The plan to establish an RTA office in Bannu was also approved.

Rehabilitation of damaged irrigation infrastructure in the merged districts, and design and construction of interchanges on Peshawar Ring Road were also approved. In the meeting, pilot projects for Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, installation of 13 solar mini-grids in merged areas, solar energy projects for 300 places of worship for non-Muslims in merged districts, Pedo Power Houses, Economic Zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Feasibility Study for Transmission Line Evocation of Various Industrial Units in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of Independent Monitoring Unit in Health Department, Completed ADP Project Hayatabad Procurement of equipment for Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Block of Medical Complex, Supply of Gym Equipment to Hayatabad Sports Complex, Framework Plan for Promotion of Sports in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rehabilitation of Squash in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Renovation of existing sports grounds in Swat District. The provision of facilities, youth development package and establishment of youth facilities in merged districts, and accommodation plan of the local community for the convenience of tourists was approved in the meeting. Establishment of a resource center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and plan for the introduction of e-stamp, special integrated area development package for South Waziristan district, plan for approval of integrated development package for Khyber district, promotion of agricultural and horticulture activities in integrated areas.

World Bank Portfolio Review Meeting

The World Bank Portfolio Review Meeting was held at the Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ikramullah Khan and attended by World Bank Country Director Mr. Najy Benhassine and Operations Manager Mr. Gailius Draugelis, relevant secretaries, Chief Economist, Project Directors and representatives from sections and departments.
Chief IDS, Dr. Muhammad Ehtisham Ul Haq provided a detailed briefing on the progress and targets of ongoing projects. The attendees jointly reviewed the progress of these projects and agreed on an action plan to ensure their successful implementation.
The Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ikramullah Khan directed Project Directors to expedite the implementation of ongoing projects to achieve project objectives.

The Steering Committee Meeting of the Sustainable Energy & Economic Development (SEED) Programme convened at the Planning & Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ikramullah Khan.

9th PDWP Meeting Held on 27th December 2024

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to the uniform development of the province by approving several development projects in the PDWP meeting. The PDWP approved Ehsaas Hunar Program at a cost of about 3 billion rupees to employ the skilled youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the construction of 26 km road in Chitral district.

The Provincial Development Working Party approved the Ehsaas Hunar Program at a cost of about 3 billion rupees to make the skilled youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa employable. Under the program, interest-free loans of up to Rs. 5 lakh will be given to skilled youth for business. More than 35 thousand skilled youth in the province will benefit from the program.

A project was approved for Rs 2.9 billion for the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and improvement of a 26 km road from Arandu to Calcuttak Lowari in the Chitral district.

The ninth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan in which several development projects were approved. Members of PDWP and officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting. The forum approved important projects related to irrigation, education, health, social welfare, and local government for the development of the province.

The command area for small dams completed under the Accelerated Development Program was approved. Improvement and rehabilitation of flood protection structures, bridges and existing structures on river Swat and nearby rivers in Tehsil Matta District Swat.

Rehabilitation and improvement of CRBC and Paharpur canal system in Dera Ismail Khan District. Construction and Feasibility Study of Solar Lift Irrigation Schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged flood structures and channels in Swat, Shangla, and Buner districts, Construction and improvement of flood protection works, channels, tube wells, and crossing facilities in Tehsil Alpuri and Bisham District Shangla as per requirement. Improvement of irrigation facilities in Swat district, Development and construction of causeway and FPW, research studies, consultancies, surveys, detailed design, Establishment of Chief Minister Delivery Unit, Establishment of Government College of Commerce Dagar Bonir, Reconstruction of Agriculture Research Institute (ARI) Mengura Swat under Saudi Fund for Development Projects, Rehabilitation of Veterinary Research and Disease Investigation Center Balogram Swat, Primary Health Center Hayasrai Ko Category-D Hospital, Upgrading in late lower, Construction of Thalassemia Department at District Headquarters Butkhela Malakand, Construction of Special Children’s School with Special Children, Teacher Training School, Establishment of Monitoring and Development System in Swat Malakand Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Construction of blacktop road in Wana of South Waziristan district. Construction of Blacktop Road in Sub-Division Tank, Provision of EMOs in secondary hospitals in merged areas; Addition of 100 specialists (consultants) for health facilities in the merged districts. Strengthening and capacity building of PHED including establishment of Sector Reforms Unit in PHE Department, construction/rehabilitation of water supply and sanitation schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-II), Provision and cleaning of sewerage schemes in Dera Ismail Khan, Approval of scheme to support special initiatives in Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, establishment of 5 model schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be worked on in Kirk, Haripur, Charsadda, Hangu, and Bitgram. Purchase of land for cemeteries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 03 Pilot project for establishment of model religious schools, Establishment of computer labs in registered religious schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Construction of Batkhela Bypass Road from Sukai Bridge to Khodaguzo Bridge Terai, Batkhela Tutakan Kulangi Section Malakand District Road Rehabilitation, Width of Boni Bizand Torkho Road District Chitral Upper, Rehabilitation of Hasukhel and Boya Bridge in North Waziristan and others were also approved in the meeting while upgradation and rehabilitation of Lawrencepur Tarbela Road was cleared for PSDP.
