Second Day of The Mid Year Review Meeting on ADP 2020-21

Approval of 106 new development schemes for integrated districts and 92 new development schemes for other districts in the first six months of the annual development program. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government approves 198 new development schemes worth a record Rs 345 billion in the first half of this year. Mid yearly review meeting of Annual Development Program 21-2020 is underway under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan.
Today, the performance of various departments was reviewed for the second day. The mid-annual review meeting will continue for three days. A briefing will be given to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa next week. Rs 109 billion has been released to all departments of which 38% has been utilized. This year, Rs 231 billion has been allocated in the budget for development projects.
Notable projects to be completed soon this year include the establishment of a Cadet College at Lakki Marwat at a cost of Rs. 77 crore, Ali Zai and Sadda grid stations in Kurram district at a cost of Rs. 2.5 billion and Ghaljo grid station in Orakzai at 66 KV to 132 KV Upgradation, improvement of power transmission system in integrated districts at a cost of Rs. 2 billion, establishment of Rescue 1122 in integrated districts at a cost of Rs. 3.67 billion, 12 km from Sakra to Gabin Jabba Road at a cost of Rs. 52 crore, Rs. Construction of Malam Jabba Road 35 km from Mangalore at a cost of Rs. 98 crore, provision of vehicles and equipment for garbage collection in integrated districts at a cost of Rs. 98 crore, embankments along the Kabul River at a cost of Rs. 1 billion and Rs. This includes construction of Gadwaliyan Dam in Haripur.
Other ongoing projects include free treatment scheme for cancer patients at a cost of Rs 5 billion, construction of roads at Hazara Malakand Division tourist places at a cost of over Rs 4 billion, Haripur Bypass Road at a cost of Rs 5 billion, Rs 9 billion. Improvement of irrigation system across the province at a cost of Rs. 5.5 billion, 1000 sports facilities, youth development package in districts at a cost of Rs. 3 billion and regional development program for North and South Waziristan at a cost of Rs. 4 billion schemes are included.

In addition, the second phase of the Swat Expressway and the Rs 4 billion Gharib Parvar Scheme ERKP project to create employment opportunities under which Rs 6 billion has already been spent since 2013.

Third Day of The Mid Year Review Meeting on ADP 2020-21

The third day of the mid-year review meeting on the annual development program for the financial year 21-2020 chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan.
The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D, Chief Economist, Coordination Section, Resource Center, M&E Directorate, International Development Section, representatives of Finance Department, Secretaries of concerned departments, Section Chiefs.
On the third day of the meeting, the mid-year performance of the departments of Primary and Secondary Education, Higher Education, Endowments, Industries, Board of Revenue, Mines and Minerals, Labor, Science Technology and Information Technology, and  Information was reviewed in detail.
 The performance of the departments was reviewed in detail including the ongoing funds for the development projects of the departments, progress on the projects and the situation of PC-1. Next week, the Chief Minister will be briefed on the mid-year performance of the departments.

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics Delegation Visits P&DD KP

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics delegation visits Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chaired a meeting on online food dashboard. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics will give a special briefing to the Deputy Commissioners of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the system of online monitoring of food prices. A system of digitization and pricing statistics will help the government make decisions.

Bank of Khyber Moves to State-Of-The-Art Digital Platform

The Bank of Khyber launched the digital application. The Chairman of the Board of Directors Additional Chief Secretary KP Shakeel Qadir Khan inaugurated the event. The event was also attended by senior management of the bank and finance secretary. The bank successfully transfers 190 branches to Bank of Khyber’s digital banking.
The launch of the app will enhance the efficiency of the bank and provide convenience to the customers. More than 2.5 million customers will be able to benefit from the mobile application. The new application will provide all the facilities like instant transfer of funds, balance check, mobile top up, online shopping etc..

Steering Committee Meeting of Business Enabling Environment Regimes For Small and Medium Enterprises in Merged Districts

A meeting of the Steering Committee was held in the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory framework to small and medium enterprises to accelerate the process of economic recovery and development in the merged districts. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is working on various projects for economic recovery and development in the merged districts. Work is underway on development projects under the Accelerated Development Program. In addition, the P&D department is in the process of approving projects for merged districts like other districts of the province in the Provincial Development Working Party meetings.
