Joint Review Meeting of UN Portfolio Held in Peshawar

The Joint Review Meeting of the UN portfolio was held today, under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning and Development Department, and Mr. Mohamed Yahya, the United Nations Resident Coordinator.
During the meeting, various UN projects in the region were reviewed, highlighting the significant contributions made towards development. Mr. Ikramullah Khan expressed appreciation for the immense support provided by the United Nations, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and reaffirmed the government’s ongoing commitment to welcoming and fostering such partnerships.
Mr. Yahya, UNRCO, also acknowledged the strong support extended by the provincial government, emphasizing the positive outcomes of the collaborative efforts between the UN and the government in advancing development initiatives.
The meeting served as an important platform to assess progress and ensure the continued success of UN-supported projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Outcomes: Transformative Pathways To Achieve The SDGs: Basic social Services, Gender equality and Women’s Empowerment, Climate Change and the Environment, Sustainable Inclusive Economic Growth & Decent Work, Governance were thoroughly discussed.
Relevant Secretaries, Chief Economist, representatives from EAD, sections of P&D and projects attended the meeting.
