A high-level meeting was held at the Planning and Development Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to review the progress of the World Bank-financed portfolio. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), and attended by senior officials, including departmental secretaries, the World Bank’s Operations Manager Mr. Gailius Draugelis, and other representatives from the Bank.
The session focused on reviewing implementation status across ongoing projects, addressing operational challenges, and devising strategies to enhance execution and impact. Deliberations underscored the need for improved interdepartmental coordination, timely decision-making, and ensuring quality outcomes.
Mr. Ikramullah Khan emphasized the urgency of accelerating project implementation and directed all Project Directors to expedite activities to meet agreed timelines. He reaffirmed the Government’s full commitment and assured the World Bank team of continued support from his office and all relevant departments to foster a strong and results-oriented partnership.
The World Bank team appreciated the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s performance, noting that the province had achieved the highest disbursement in recent years under the World Bank portfolio—reflecting improved project readiness and execution capacity.
