A meeting with the World Bank Group on the Health Portfolio and Strengthening of Primary Health Care was held under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Islam Zaib. The Additional Chief Secretary appreciated the World Bank partnership and highlighted that health is a top priority for the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and remains a key focus area. ACS also stressed the importance of a preventive approach in resource distribution and planning.
World Bank Lead Health Specialist Dr. Sherin Varkey and his team attended the meeting. Current health interventions across the province were reviewed, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project-Health Component and the National Health Support Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Integrated Primary Health Care Programme for Stunting Reduction, which is in pipeline, was also discussed in detail.
