A meeting with the Asian Development Bank MTR Mission was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting focused on current areas of cooperation, including the KPCIP, and pipeline initiatives. Key urban and water projects were discussed in detail, including the Peshawar Greater Water Supply Project and the Climate and Urban Resilience Enhancement Project.
The Asian Development Bank Mission lauded the Khyber Cities Improvement Project. The Additional Chief Secretary highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure smooth progress toward timely completion of project.
Regarding the pipeline initiatives, the Additional Chief Secretary directed the relevant officials to consult the concerned department during the formulation of the PC-I and to undertake preparatory work during the design phase in order to make the projects more beneficial, practical, and impactful. He further emphasized the need to allocate more resources for interventions that deliver long-term and tangible impacts.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary Local Government, the Chief Economist, and other officials from the relevant sections, along with representatives of the Asian Development Bank.
