UNDP Delegation Met ACS KP

Review Meeting on ADP 2023-24

The review meeting of the annual development plan for the year 2024-2023 is ongoing in the Department of Planning and Development. Under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, the progress on the projects of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Municipalities and other departments was reviewed. Secretary P&D Mr. Shahidullah Khan, Chief Economist Mr. Arifullah Awan, representatives of departments and sections of P&D attended the meeting. The Additional Chief Secretary stressed on ensuring quality and transparency in the projects and issued instructions that the departments should make their own action plans in the light of the monitoring and evaluation reports.

CS KP Visited Flood Affected District Lower Chitral

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry visited the flood-affected district of Lower Chitral.
Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Soraya Bibi, IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner and other officials accompanied him. He inspected the affected areas of Lower Chitral district. On this occasion checks of relief funds were distributed. A relief check of Rs 10 lakh was given to the next of kin of a person who died in the floods in Lower Chitral, while checks of Rs 90 lakh were distributed to the owners of 45 completely destroyed houses. The Chief Secretary was briefed in the Lower Chitral DC conference room about the flood devastation and the relief activities carried out so far. While presiding over the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the district administration of Lower Chitral and the relief department should restore all the connecting roads and open them for traffic within two days. He also directed to speed up the work on the rehabilitation works and use all our energy and capabilities to restore it as soon as possible.

CM KPK Ali Amin Gandapur Inagurated Solar Scheme For The Poor Families of KPK

Another important initiative was taken by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, who inaugurated the model design and online application system for the solar scheme. An announcement is made to increase the number of beneficiaries from I lakh to I lakh and 30 thousand. CM KP also implemented a separate solar scheme for 30 thousand poor families in the Marged districts. It is further added that electricity feeders with power losses, backward and hottest areas will be prioritized in the solarization scheme. This solar scheme is a complete package that will include solar panels along with wiring, stand for panels, inverters, fans, and bulbs.

4th PDWP Held on 22nd Augutst 2024

On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, in the fourth session of the Provincial Development Working Party, the projects worth 3 billion were approved. The approval was given in the PDWP meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, a special scheme for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the name of Ehsaas Young Program was approved. 

In order to help the youth in the province stand on their own feet and start their own jobs, KP government is launching a major provincial flagship project called Youth Employment Scheme, under which youth across the province are given interest-free loans to set up their own businesses in every sector. PDWP members and concerned departments participated in the meeting. The forum approved 14 projects related to irrigation, energy and power, MSD, sports etc. for the development of the province. The approved new projects include the Ehsaas Youth Program and other revised projects.

World Bank Portfolio Review Meeting

The World Bank Portfolio Review’s meeting was held at the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today, under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. He emphasized the importance of effective project management, coordination, and quality work.
Furthermore, Additional Chief Secretary assured that his office, along with all relevant Secretaries, would extend full facilitation and support to the World Bank, ensuring seamless execution of projects and fostering a productive partnership.

Implementation Support Mission For Pakistan Visited P&D Department

A delegation from the Implementation Support Mission for Pakistan Hydromet and Climate Services Project and the Technical Mission on Landscape Governance met with Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, to discuss the recent Environmental Degradation Assessment exercise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
