Consultative Committee Meeting With Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Planning and Development Department held the first consultative committee meeting of the Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate on the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Afridi. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Mr. Ikramullah Khan.
The meeting reviewed the current activities of the Directorate, Annual Work Plan and Under Construction Policy Document, identified capacity building needs, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation at the district and provincial levels.
The Additional Chief Secretary termed strengthening the monitoring system as a key priority of the government to ensure transparency and better utilization of public funds. He stressed on effective monitoring, transparency and evidence-based planning of development projects across the province.

Consultative Meeting on Utilization of NHP Royalty under New Procedure

A high-level consultative meeting was held today with the honorable Members of Parliament from Haripur, including the Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Arshad Ayub Khan, and the honorable Members of Provincial Assembly, Mr. Akbar Ayub Khan and Mr. Malik Adeel Iqbal. The meeting discussed in detail the effective utilization of Net Hydel Profit (NHP) Royalty under the new procedure introduced by the Planning and Development (P&D) Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting, Chief Regional Development, Mr. Hamid Naveed and Project Director, DDP, Mr. Hashmat Ali gave a comprehensive briefing to the honorable Members of Parliament on the new procedure, its objectives and methods of its practical implementation. The Members of Parliament expressed keen interest in the briefing and termed it useful, comprehensive and effective.

The honourable members of parliament appreciated the new model, terming it a practical, effective and forward-looking initiative for fair, transparent and timely utilization of NHP royalty. They said that this simple and systematic approach will promote accountability and significantly accelerate the implementation of development projects.

The meeting also emphasized the inclusion of key sectors such as employment opportunities and natural resource management (NRM) along with infrastructure. The members highlighted that this integrated and diversified sectoral strategy will play a significant role in promoting sustainable and inclusive development in the region.

The honourable members of parliament appreciated the initiatives taken by the Planning and Development Department and commended the efforts of the Secretary P&D and the Additional Chief Secretary for leading revolutionary and forward-looking reforms in the province. They expressed confidence that these reforms would ensure better utilization of development funds and effective and timely financing of projects.

A World Bank Portfolio Review meeting was held at the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Ikramullah Khan. Teams of the projects were appreciated and encouraged to maintain their momentum for making good progress and meeting targets. The meeting also discussed areas where through collaboration and coordination, achievements and benefits can be further enhanced.
The Additional Chief Secretary assured the commitment of Planning and Development Department to keeping the projects on track and achieving targets. He added that the department will hold timely steering committee meetings and will provide full facilitation to ensure the smooth implementation of projects and efficient coordination in unforeseen situations.

9th PDWP Meeting

9th PDWP Meeting Held on 23rd December 2025

The ninth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan.
The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of the relevant departments. The forum approved 60 important projects related to roads, agriculture, social welfare, livestock, industries, health, forests and irrigation for the development of the province.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a water supply and drainage project worth Rs 500 million for the flood-hit Buner district. Under the project, clean water supply projects will be provided in Union Council Gulbandi and Pandera and work will be done on the improvement of streets and drains in Tehsil Gagra and Chagharzai.
On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, several road infrastructure projects were approved in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting to make the daily journey of citizens easier and safer and to enable access to remote areas through the improvement of roads across the province. 27 feasibility studies will be conducted under the projects.
A Rs 1.8 billion project has been approved for the improvement of water supply system and rehabilitation of structures on the Main Chashma Right Bank Canal in Dera Ismail Khan, which will benefit three lakh people.

ISLAMABAD – The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced the successful completion of a dynamic investors roadshow for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, a road connecting Indus Highway N-55 with Hakla D.I. Khan Motorway M-14. The event drew enthusiastic participation from leading construction firms, financial institutions, and private equity investors.
The roadshow, held at Islamabad, showcased the project’s detailed scope, financial arrangements, risk-sharing framework, and implementation timelines. The event provided a platform for stakeholders to engage with government officials and explore opportunities for collaboration.
“The Bannu Link Road Project is a testament to our commitment to improving regional connectivity and promoting economic growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,”says Mr. Adeel Shah, Secretary, P&D Department.
Attendees included CEOs of Tier-1 contractors, senior bankers from national lenders, and investment fund managers, all expressing keen interest in participating in the project. The government’s transparent approach and commitment to de-risking the project through viability gap funding and land acquisition support were highlighted as key factors in generating investor interest.

Investors praised the government’s clarity in documentation and commitment to supporting the project’s development. Several firms have already signaled their intent to participate in the upcoming bidding process.
