Directorate of M&E Along With PHE Visited The Areas of AIP-Schemes For Merged Districts

Upon the directions of Director General, Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Deputy Director(MAs), M&E, Peshawar Division along with team of Public Health Engineering paid a site-visit to AIP schemes: Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Drinking Water Schemes in Newly Merged Districts. Team monitored physical and financial progress. For the uplift of people of Newly Merged Districts government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had initiated such multiple projects.

Representatives of Infraco Asia and ENRTECH Visited the P&D Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In order to follow up on the Memorandam of Understand(MOUs) signed in Dubai Expo, the representatives of InfraCo Asia and Enertech visited Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday and had productive meetings with Shahab Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Agenda of the meetings was to agree upon a way forward pertaining tourism related projects, solarization facilities and transmission line and energy related projects. It is pertinent to highlight that government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recently participated in Dubai Expo, where multiple such MOUs signed. All the MOUs have been endorsed by the Cabinet. It was agreed in the meetings that an action plan having timeline of activities and sub activities shall be devised and agreed upon in order to execute the plan in a structured manner.
On the special directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, the Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is holding these meetings to implement all these agreements of Dubai Expo and to provide administrative facilities and assistance.

15th PDWP Held on 16 February 2022

PESHAWAR: The 15th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved schemes worth Rs 322630 million.

Under the chairmanship of Shahab Ali Shah, the additional chief secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the approval was accorded at the meeting of the PDWP.

Approved schemes include project like Peshawar Uplift Program Phase II, which will provide recreational facilities for citizens, clean drinking water and beautification of the city.
The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum approved 37 projects schemes pertaining to Industries, Higher Education, Relief and Rehabilitation, C&W, Local Government, Rural Development, Health, Sports&Tourism, Energy and Power, and Board of Revenue sectors for the uplift of the province.

 

The approved projects include, Women Skills Development Centers in Central and Southern newly merged districts, Establishment of Degree Colleges for girls in Mandani and boys at Naqeeb Khel, District Tank, Upgradation and Rehabilitation of Younis Khan Sports Complex at Miranshah and other Sports facilities in District North Waziristan, Establishment, Institutionalization of Boys Scout Activities in Newly Merged Districts, three projects of 564 mega watt in Kari Mushkur district Chitral, Patrak Shringal and Kalkot Barikot Patrak in District Dir Upper, 500 KW Mini Hydro Power station At Shalozan, Kurram Agency, Malana Multi Purpose Water Project, Kurram Agency, Sadda Multipurpose Water Project, Kurram Agency, Rehabilitation of Reshun HPP ,Purchase of Land for Hydal Projects, Consultancy Services for Remodelling of Upper Swat Canal System, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Flood Affected Infrastructure in District Swat, Feasibility study and Design of Construction of Bypass Road from Ambella Chowk to Elai Bridge, District Buner, Widening and Rehabilitation of road from Baryam Chowk to Wanai, Matta District Swat (10.3 Kilometers), Construction of Cafeteria/car parking/masjid in Provincial Assembly Building, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of road from Narmi Khel to Miryan in district Bannu, Construction of 3.5 kilometers road from Bypass road to Sabzi Mandi via Darpa Khel Qasim Meeran Shah North Wazirstan, Establishment of Police Lines at Miran Shah, North Waziristan, Feasibility Study for Prison Industries and Skill Development of Prisoners, Reconstruction of Damaged DC’s Main Office/ Tehsil Building Mansehra, Feasibility study for improvement of Drainage System in Peshawar zoo and Rahatabad area Peshawar ,Establishment of Emergency Rescue Services (Rescue 1122) in FR,s and seven newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Establishment of Southern Region, Institute of Cardiology at D.I Khan, Integrated Vector Management Program in newly merged districts, Integrated Vector Control Programme, Establishment of Project Management Unit and Hangu, Kohat and Karak Area Development Project, Construction of (3.5-KM) Road from Bypass Road to Sabzi Mewa Mandi via Darpa Khel Qasim Meeran Shah North Waziristan.

P&D Review & Monitoring Team Visited Wheat Warehouses in District Tank

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, like other sectors of the province, is working on the construction of wheat warehouses to provide an efficient and robust system of wheat supply to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Reconstruction of Upper Swat Canal System

Another revolutionary achievement of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. A feasibility study for the reconstruction of the Upper Swat Canal System has recently been approved by the 15th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party. The project will benefit the people of Malakand, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera and Charsadda districts. The existing canal system now irrigates 276,000 acres of land at a discharge of 1800 cusecs, while 315,000 acres of land will be irrigated at a discharge of 2400 cusecs. Reconstruction will increase crop yields, facilitate local farmers and create thousands of jobs.

Special PDWP Held on 28 February 2022

A total of Rs 41.98 billion projects were cleared at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Development Working Party meeting.

In a special meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party, four projects for the federal PSDP program costing Rs 24.26 billion have been cleared. Apart from this, another project of Rs. 5 billion was also approved in the gas and power sector. This approval was given under the chairmanship of Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary, P&D Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Approved projects include projects such as the Thirty Breast Cancer Screening Clinics and four Breast Cancer Screening Centers for early detection of breast cancer through the establishment of a Central Regional Hub.

The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and relevant departments. The Forum approved six projects related to C&W, Rural Development, Health, Agriculture and Planning and Development Department for the betterment of the province.

Projects include diversion of road from Indus Highway to Bannu city, feasibility study, detailed engineering design and construction of road connecting Indus Highway (N-55) at Mangla Banda with Hakla York Motorway (M-14) at Klor. Includes (approximately 40 km) local promotion of vegetable and pulses seeds through public-private cooperation, gas development and expansion of high and low transmission lines, supply of transformers, maintenance of lines and high and low transmission of 11kv feeders and National Health Support Project Concept Note Clearance.
