Highlights of 15th PDWP Meeting Held on 25th January 2021

15th PDWP meeting approved the upgradation of nursing schools in Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Mardan, Swat, and Abbottabad. the project will increase the numbers of vacancies in the nursing schools and it  will boost the work force fighting against the pandemic.

Future of any region is dependent on harnessing the potential of its young bulge through education. Expansion/Upgradation of Khyber Girls Medical College to accommodate additional 50 students of Merged Districts approved.

Under the FIP Program, Reconstruction of 11 fully damaged schools in Tribal District Bajaur at a cost of PKR 338.044 Million and Reconstruction of 27 fully damaged schools in Tribal District Mohmand at a cost of PKR 831.461 Million have been approved by the PDWP.

Meeting on Digitization of Essential Services for The People of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Work begins on digitizing the process of providing essential services to the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan in the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secretary Excise, officials from IT Board and Board of Revenu, representatives of local government and chiefs of Rule of Law and Industries sections from P&D department also attended the meeting.

The meeting was given a detailed briefing by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board on digitizing essential services for the citizens. In the first phase, 17 services related to Local Government Department, Board of Revenue and Excise and Taxation Department will be digitized for the convenience of the public. The meeting was informed that the back-end data of the departments is being digitized to make the project a reality. In the first phase, necessary documents and matters will be digitized for the provision of departmental records on the system, after which the system will be launched for the citizens. PC One will soon be submitted to the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for approval.
17 Services include Birth, Marriage, Death, Divorce Certificate, Water Bill, Drainage Complaint, Construction Approval, Illegal Construction Complaint, Excise File Tracking System, Vehicle Number Plates and Registration, Land Record Matters Included. The meeting was informed that work is underway on a web portal to provide all these services on a single platform which will facilitate the public. A briefing has also been given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on the project while some services have already been digitized by various departments which will be integrated in the IT Portal’s web portal. This will be done and training will also be given to the officials of Local Government Department, Board of Revenue and Excise In addition, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) is working on an integrated system of integrated payment gateways, combining various money transfer systems, EasyPasa, Jazz Cash and banking e-payment systems, for which various banks and mobile companies Has been contacted and soon this facility will also be available for the convenience of the public.

Meeting of Bureau of Statistics with ACS KP

Steering Committee Meeting on Innovative Ideas

A meeting of the Project Steering Committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan to promote creative ideas for solving the problems facing the province.The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Health, Chief Economist P&D, DG Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Director, SDU officials including Finance Department and senior officials of P&D Department.
 
The meeting was informed that under the scheme, work on four projects with unique ideas is underway while work on 2 projects including tele-farming in agriculture and one-touch app of Rescue 1122 has been completed.
Under the scheme, the government is providing unique ideas to the youth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that the youth can play their role together with the government for the development of the society.
The total cost of the project is Rs. 1 billion, which aims to promote creative ideas for solving problems in various sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.The KP government is monitoring and funding the innovative ideas scheme, and the Department of Planning and Development is paying special attention to it to further improve the scheme.The meeting was informed that under the project, a telemedicine project has been launched in the health department at a total cost of Rs. 9.5 crore.
 Under the scheme, 472 patients including 156 women and 316 men have been checked online in the last three months (November, December, January) in five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Batgram, Chitral, Karak, Nowshera and Swabi.
A telemedicine hub has been set up at Police Hospital Peshawar for the project in which doctors from different parts of the province treat patients online. Solar panels have recently been installed at the respective hospitals in Batgram, Chitral, Karak, Nowshera and Swabi for the project. And the availability of the internet is also ensured.
In addition, under the recently released advertisement under the project, the P&D department has received 75 new ideas which are being scrutinized and shortlisted, after which funds will be released for the launch of the projects.

Telemedicine Scheme Launched in Five Districts of KP

Under P&DD Piloting Innovative Ideas, Telemedicine scheme launched in Chitral, Battagram, Swabi, Nowshehra, Karak.
Doctors sitting at Telemedicine HUB, Police Services Hospital Peshawar are counseling patients remotely, who otherwise require a regular visit to hospital.
A total of 472 patients have been examined since Nov 2020 under Telemedicine initiative.
Telemedicine is an impactful tool. It reduces the burden on hospitals by redirecting patients without in-person needs.

Meeting on Peshawar Development Plan

The meeting was chaired by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Arbab Shehzad. Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan briefed the meeting on Peshawar Development Plan. Secretaries, senior officials, DC Peshawar, Peshawar Development Authority and P&D PP&H Section Chief attended.

The annual development program for Peshawar includes 118 small and large development projects. The projects are divided into ten different sectors and three categories. The first category includes projects that are being completed in six months. The second category includes one-year projects, the third category includes projects lasting more than one year. The meeting was informed that 22 projects for Peshawar will be completed in the next six months.

Projects include construction and repair of roads, link roads to maintain traffic flow, construction of bridges, construction and repair of parks, open gymnasiums in parks, pedestrian bridges, parking facilities, the beauty of inner-city, drainage, clean water supply, various sports projects are included.

The meeting was informed that 9 km road from Mufti Mehmood Flyover to Budni Bridge and Wahid Garhi has been completed. Link road from Nasir Bagh to N5 will be completed in March. Various parks including hockey turf in Islamia College, upgrade of Tajabad Ring Road link and work on several traffic projects has been completed.
The meeting was informed that the services of consultant have been sought for Peshawar Master Plan which is being worked on. Land Use Plan for Peshawar has also been prepared. Peshawar development plan will help the provincial capital become a model city, solve traffic problems and enhance the beauty of the city.

KP P&D Department Decides to Create Comprehensive Platform for All Problem Solving Projects

P&D Department decides to create a comprehensive platform for all problem solving projects through ongoing startup programs and creative ideas in the province. A single steering committee has been set up for all projects in the P&D department. It will oversee all the startup programs, Ideas programs that have been launched for the youth by various departments.

In this regard, information on all such projects will soon be made available on the social media platforms of the P&D department so that the youth Benefit from all these programs – The main purpose of the decision is to facilitate public access to information on all these programs so that the youth can work with the government to play their role in solving the problems facing the society and also benefit the national economy.

Important decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Planning and Development Department.

Review Meeting on Peshawar Uplift Phase 1 & Peshawar Beautification Phase 2

Review meeting was held on Peshawar Uplift Phase 1 and Peshawar Beautification Phase 2 projects in Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was informed that the total cost of Peshawar Uplift Phase 1 is Rs. 10 billion. The project was approved in 2016. So far Rs. 5.9 billion has been spent under the project. A total of 149 projects are under consideration out of which 94 have been completed. The total cost of Peshawar Beautification Phase 2 project is Rs. 50 crore. The project was approved in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting in October 2020. Rs. 18.7 crore has been spent on the project so far while 9 projects are in progress.

PAMFrame Launched for ADP/AIP Sector by KP P&D Department

Led by the Planning and Development Department, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today kicked off the ADP/AIP sector programming for 2021-22 under the Programming Approaches/Analytics & Measures Framework (PAMframe), which is jointly developed in collaboration with the UNDP Merged Areas Governance Project.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan spoke to the Planning Officers of the Line Departments on the occasion and encouraged them to actively participate in the development of their sector PAMframes.
