A meeting with team of GIZ regarding Adaptive Social Protection Program held at Planning and Development Department.
The meeting was chaired by Secretary Planning and Development Department, Mr. Shahidullah Khan, and attended by the Director General Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), PD SPRU, representatives from relevant sections, and team from GIZ.
During the meeting, the Secretary was briefed on the various activities underway as part of the program.
The Secretary emphasized the need for workable solutions, a comprehensive database to identify gaps, innovative approaches to ensure social protection and employment opportunities at the doorstep.
A meeting was held with a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. Director General of the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) and representative from the IDS section also attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation. The Additional Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of initiatives that provide youth with opportunities to showcase their innovative ideas.
Key areas of discussion also included climate financing, entrepreneurship, and current initiatives in tourism.
Preparatory meeting for Project Steering Committee (PSC) was held under the Chairmanship of Director General- Sustainable Development Unit, P&D Department on 7th August, 2025, in the Committee Room of SDU, P&D Department. Project Director RIP-KP appraised the forum about the ongoing and completed interventions in district Nowshera, and Haripure. Mr. Thorstan, Country Director, KFW, and Aron Muller KFW also attended the meeting virtually. Project Director, RIF-KP assured the forum that all the project activities would be completed in the stipulated time before the project completion in the large interest of the public
The 47th meeting of the Steering Committee on SDGs Achievements Programme was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Representatives from the Planning and Development Departments of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the Director General of the Sustainable Development Unit, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attended. The committee discussed ongoing SAP schemes, obstacles to fund release, and the Chairman assured that sufficient funds would be released impartially to underdeveloped areas across the country
