Expansion of Rescue 1122 Stations to Tehsil Level Is The Geat Achievement of KP Government

In view of the changing conditions and climatic variations, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has always taken personal interest in establishing Rescue 1122 and expanding the service in the field of relief. On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, Department of Planning and Development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not only approved the plans for several districts, but in many districts the Rescue 1122 service is operational today and this series is now expanding to the Tehsil level. In the relief sector, in the last fiscal year, the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Development Working Party meeting approved plans worth about 10 billion for the establishment of new substations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the newly merged districts. The relief operations are underway due to heavy rains in the affected districts of Kirk, Swabi, Peshawar, Tank, DI Khan and other areas.

Rescue 1122 Service Station is Made Operational in Lal Qila Maidan Lower Dir

In the light of the instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, Rescue 1122 station has been established in Tehsil Lal Qila Maidan of Dir Lower.
Rescue 1122 ambulances and fire vehicles with staff deployed.
From here, the process of providing services to the people of Maidan during emergencies has been started regularly.
On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, in the recent meetings of the Provincial Development Working Party of Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rescue 1122 projects were approved in various districts of the entire province.

First Steering Committee Meeting on KP Rural Economic Transformation Project

The first meeting of the Steering Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Economic Transformation Project was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr Shahab Ali Shah. Secretary Agriculture Mohammad Asrar gave a detailed briefing to the Additional Chief Secretary on the activities carried out under the project, and the positive effects of the project on the local economy and population.
Under the development vision of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Mahmood Khan, the Department of Planning and Development has initiated steps to implement the project, which aims to improve the agricultural productivity of the farmers of the province and increase their income. GIA was Signed Between NDRMF, Agriculture Department and P&D Department

Grant Implementation Agreement (GIA) of Rs. 2899.672 million was signed between National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF), Agriculture Department and Planning & Development Department.
Under the Project “Climate Resilient through horticulture interventions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”, Rs. 2899.672 million will be provided as a grant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a period of two years.
Under this joint venture project of NDRMF, Agriculture & Forest Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa various horticultural interventions will be adopted to mitigate the impact of climate change in the province.

9th PSC Meeting On Sub-National Governance

9th Programme Steering Committee (PSC) meeting of Sub-National Governance held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr Shahab Ali Shah. The meeting was attended by Ms Annabel Gerry, Development Director, FCDO Pakistan, Ms Sarah Cooper, Head of Governance FCDO and representatives of line departments. PSC Meeting of Women Economic & Political Participation Project in KP

The Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting of Women Economic & Political Participation Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was convened under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr.Shah Mahmood Khan. It was also attended by Ms. Caitlin Poole, Sr. Program Manager Cowater Canada and Mr. Lawrence Tucker Vice President, Risk Management, Canada. The workplan of the project was presented and different activities under the project for the next year were discussed.The Secretary directed to enhance visibility of activities under the project. The Stakeholder Engagement Plan which was developed by the Social Protection and Gender Mainstreaming Section with the support of CoWater Canada was also launched. The Stakeholder Engagement Plan identifies and graphically classifies the stakeholders for the section in achieving the strategic objectives of gender mainstreaming and women development. It will be a useful tool in bringing all the relevant stakeholders on board for achieving organisational milestones.

The First Steering Committee Meeting of Multi-Sectoral Coordination Mechanism for Prevention & Response to Gender-Based Violence supported by UNFPA was held under the chairmanship of Secretary, Planning & Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shah Mahmood Khan. It was attended by Secretary Social Welfare Department and Deputy Representative, Ms. Latika Maskey Pradhan from UNFPA, among other members of the steering committee. The steering committee will provide all out support to the inter sectoral technical working group so as to address challenges faced by various departments/organisations in reducing the cases of gender based violence. This steering committee will serve as a platform to support the pivotal objective of UNFPA that is to ensure and facilitate access to support services for GBV victims and ensure accountability under the umbrella of higher forums at Planning & Development Department.

ADB Climate Change Mission led by Chief Thematic officer, Ms Yang Called on the ACS KP Mr Shahab Ali Shah

Asian Development Bank Climate Change Mission led by Chief Thematic officer, Ms Yang called on the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Shahab Ali Shah. During the meeting areas of mutual interest including climate change, mitigation & adaptation came under discussion.
The Additional Chief Secretary stated that the Government of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa intends to create resilience in all sectors of the province’s economy through adaptation and mitigation which will ultimately contribute to the global efforts against Climate Change. The ACS added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is going to pitch the international climate financing windows for identified projects by establishing voluntary carbon markets for both nature-based and infra projects. Climate change is a cross-cutting theme and the focus is on climate change mitigation and adaptation aimed at impactful outcomes at the provincial level. ADB apprised the Government’s efforts and showed interest to support the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s effort by extending technical assistance.

1st PDWP Held on 5th August 2022

In the first meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party, 62 projects worth 110 billion rupees were approved. The approval was given in the PDWP meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr Shahab Ali Shah. On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Mahmood Khan, plans for separate District Development Plans were approved for several districts for uniform development of the province. Under the projects, work will be done on the restoration of education and health facilities, supply of clean drinking water, irrigation and agriculture etc. in several districts. The meeting was attended by the concerned departments and members. The forum approved projects related to irrigation, public health engineering, C&W, higher education, food and agriculture sectors for the development of the province.

In the approved projects in the field of irrigation, construction and improvement of irrigation, crossing facilities and infrastructure in Chaparyal, Bedra, Shokhdra, Darosh Khela, Baz Khela, Sukhra and adjacent areas of Swat district, while the effects of Khyber Jabba Dam construction project.

Increasing sustainable productivity through the promotion of climate-smart and efficient mechanized farming practices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Increasing the productivity of agricultural land by improving soil and water conservation;  Integrated Livestock Development Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, In the road sector, construction, maintenance, widening and improvement of roads, bridges and culverts in Upper Swat and Tehsil Kabal; Construction of 28 km road from District Karam Datoi to Hyder Kundu,  Reconstruction, rehabilitation and improvement of Arundu Merkani road in Chitral Payin district, Notable projects in higher education include the establishment of 5 Government Girls Degree Colleges in Tehsil Barang District Bajaur, Azam Warsak South Waziristan, Mehsud Area South Waziristan, Shawa North Waziristan and Landi Kotal Khyber etc.
