The reconstruction of Government Higher Secondary School Akbarpura, Nowshera has been completed. American Ambassador Donald Bloom, Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan, Secretary Education, Director General PDMA, Director PDMA and other senior officials participated in the inauguration ceremony. . PDMA Parsa managed by USAID reached its flood-affected completion. This flagship project was completed with the financial support of donor agency USAID at a cost of 160 million rupees. The school is spread over 23 canals of land, which includes a two-storied academic block (26 classrooms), three science laboratories, a computer laboratory, a sports hall, an auditorium, an administration block, and lavatory blocks. The number of students in the school is currently 1200. The school provides special attention to the needs of the special children
Provincial Committee for Census meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Imdadullah Bosal. The meeting was attended by the concerned officials including the provincial census commissioner, additional chief secretary, and administrative secretaries. According to the briefing, the chief secretary instructed to provide adequate facilities to the census staff. He said that all stakeholders involved in the census should take steps to play a meaningful role and that the cooperation between enumerators and respondents is essential for a successful census. He further added that census is a best practice for comprehensive planning, development, and resource allocation and that it will enable access to quality data. The chief secretary was briefed that the census will continue from March 1 to April 1. This is the first digital census in the history of Pakistan. The facility of self-enumeration has also been given to the citizens. The census staff will go door to door and register all individuals and families.
The World Bank’s Country Director, Mr. Najy Benhasin called on Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Ikramullah Khan to review the World Bank portfolio. The meeting was also attended by Secretaries of line departments. Interventions in roads, health, energy & power, tourism, and agriculture sector were discussed in detail. During the meeting, it was agreed to enhance cooperation.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to InfraCo Asia to undertake a complete feasibility study for the solarization of economic zones in KP. The LOI signifies the commitment of KPEZDMC and InfraCo Asia to work together in exploring the potential of solar energy and expanding its use in the province’s economic zones.
The signing ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Imdadullah Bosal, Jo Moir, Development Director of the British High Commission Pakistan, Dr. Omar Mukhtar Khan, Team Lead of SEED, Javed Iqbal Khattak, CEO of KPEZDMC, and others.
Mr. Imran Khan (Senior Sector Specialist) and Ms. Marlene Schild (Portfolio Manager), the KFW delegates visited Planning & Development Department KhyberPakhtunkhwa. A detailed presentation was given under the chairmanship of Chief Economist Mr. Muhammad Ali Asghar on the GIS-HUB decision support system. Mr. Zahir Shah DG PCNA, Mr. Imran Zahoor Coordinator OSU, and other representatives of GPP KP & Merged Areas also attended the meeting. The system was greatly appreciated, especially its role in the appraisal process of ADP schemes.

Mr. Sven Ruesch, Acting Head of Cooperation, European Union, Mr. Knut Ostby, Resident Representative, UNDP, Ms. Meriem El Harouchi, First Secretary, Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan, Ms. Sharmela Rasool, Country Head, UN Women, Ms. Zainab Qaisar Khan, Head of Sub Office Peshawar, UN Women, Mr. Sher Khan, Rule of Law Expert, UN Women, Mr. Waqas Shah, Criminal Justice and ROL Coordinator, UNODC, Ms. Chamila Hemathagamma, Programme Manager Rule of Law, UNDP, Mr. Arshid Jan, Deputy Programme Manager Rule of Law, UNDP and Ms. Caitlin Chittenden, Rule of Law Specialist, UNDP attended the meeting. The progress made in strengthening the provincial rule of law coordination mechanisms and creating gender-responsive environments was discussed, with the goal of improving justice and security services delivery while upholding constitutional safeguards and human rights standards. The Secretary expressed gratitude to EU and UN for their continued partnership in supporting local development, gender empowerment, and rule of law initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Provincial Census Coordination Committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Imdadullah Bosal, convened a meeting to review the ongoing 7th Housing and Population Census.
The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of effective coordination among all relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the census exercise. In order to facilitate the public, the date of self-enumeration has been extended until March 10th, 2023.
A joint review meeting of foreign funded projects and pipeline projects of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held under the co-chairmanship of Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Dr. Kazim Niaz and Additional Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Ikramullah Khan at Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secretaries of line departments, representatives of World Bank and Asian Development Bank attended the meeting.
Different activities under the projects, overall progress and status of pipeline projects were reviewed. It was instructed to expedite the ongoing projects and also execution process of committed pipeline projects.
