46th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Trans Peshawar

On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the 46th meeting of the Board of Directors of Trans Peshawar was held at the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary P&D Mr. Islam Zeb.
All board members attended the meeting. The board first reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the 45th meeting and expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far.
In view of the increasing demand and rush of passengers, the 46th meeting approved the purchase and induction of 52 new electric and 50 hybrid buses in the system to further improve the environment-friendly operation of Peshawar BRT and reduce carbon emissions. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and the increasing rush pressure, it was also approved to start new feeder bus routes on Ring Road, Dalazak Road and Khyber Road as well as to run additional buses on the main BRT corridor to reduce the waiting time. It is also worth mentioning that Trans Peshawar has recently received ISO 9001-2015 certification for its excellent quality management system. Despite the increase in fuel prices, no increase in fares has been made in the interest of the public and passengers. The board directed the management of Trans Peshawar to complete the process of purchasing new buses and issuing routes at the earliest and in the meantime, ensure strict implementation of all quality and safety norms.
