PDWP Meeting Approved 18 Projects Worth Over Rs 35 Billion

18 projects worth over Rs 35 billion approved in Provincial Development Working Party meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Mr. Islam Zeb

On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a road project worth Rs 5 billion was approved to access tourist destinations in Malakand Division. The construction of these roads will promote the tourism sector and strengthen local businesses and economy. The new road infrastructure will facilitate access to tourist destinations, reduce travel time and ensure safe and smooth travel for tourists and local population.

The projects approved in Swat district include the upgradation of Shahi Bagh Utroor Road, construction of Koshanko Darra Road, construction of Dadsar Road, construction of Mango Karoi Kandao Road, construction of Soltanar Road and reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gabin Jabba Road. In Upper Dir district, the construction of road from Ashrit Gwaldai to Sarbanda Samat Shahi, construction of road from Dunkar Jandre to Katora Lake and construction of road from Barkand Oshirai to Kandao Top have been approved. In Lower Dir district, construction of Sia to Haider Kandao Road PK-15, construction of Aso Road, construction of Manai Jakar Baba Road, construction of Oskai Barcharai Road, construction of Dasht-e-Leela Road from Mena Sar Bala, construction of Narai Kandao Road from Bagh and construction of Ziam Asman Shan Khushal Patte Top Road have been approved. While in Upper Chitral district, the upgradation project of Qaqalisht Meadows Road has been approved.
The meeting was attended by members of the forum and senior officers of the relevant departments.
The meeting approved important projects in the roads sector, including construction and feasibility study of the road from Haweed to Takhtaikhel Road and Main Hubak Sorani Road to Police Chowki Hubak and from Bat Chowk to Mandori Matotullah Shah Sarni in Bannu district, improvement and rehabilitation of Chashma to Dratang Road via Kafirkot, construction of three RC bridges and link roads in Khyber district, construction and black-topping of a 10.5-km long road from Al-Haj Shell Pump to Tera Main and Link Roads, construction of link roads from Peshawar University Road to Ring Road, feasibility study and detailed engineering design for dual-laneing of 26-km road from Indus Highway to Bannu City, rehabilitation and reconstruction of Hawala Road from Baran Dam to Jani Khel and Police Station Merian in Bannu district, construction of internal roads in all union councils of Haripur district. Apart from this, the meeting also approved the establishment of a public park in Tehsil Matta Swat, establishment of an e-governance cell and CBIS for water charges collection in the Public Health Engineering Department, special project of the common citizen through AIP and KP and establishment of Institute of Petroleum Technology.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Islam Zeb said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is utilizing all resources for the development and public welfare of the province. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure transparency, quality and adherence to the stipulated time limit in the implementation of the approved projects so that the people can benefit from these facilities as soon as possible.
