On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Planning and Development Department along with the concerned department has completed and made functional a Category-C Hospital in Balakot, Mansehra District.
The newly constructed Category-C Hospital Balakot is located at the gateway of Kaghan and Naran. This 110-bed hospital will provide quality medical facilities not only to the local population but also to the domestic and foreign tourists visiting throughout the year. The hospital has all the basic and specialized departments including General Surgery, General Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Ear Nose and Throat, Orthopedics, Accident and Emergency, Labor Room, ICU and Dental.
The project was completed at a cost of Rs. 924.5 million.
This is the only Category-C hospital in the tourist belt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Its completion will provide modern diagnostic and treatment facilities in the area, increase the capacity of patients and provide health services as per international standards. The operationalization of this hospital will reduce the burden of patients on the District Headquarters Hospital, Mansehra and other major hospitals, and the residents of Balakot and adjacent areas will be provided with timely and quality health facilities in their area.
