On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with the concerned department, has completed the important project of establishing a Women Crisis Center in Peshawar for the protection and rehabilitation of women.
The project cost Rs. 130.260 million and it has been established in Bashirabad, Pajgai Road, Peshawar.
The aim of establishing this center is to provide immediate protection and support to women who are victims of various forms of discrimination, domestic violence and gender-based violence.
In the Women Crisis Center, women will be trained in various skills along with safe housing, security and protection so that they can become financially self-sufficient. In addition, work will be done on character building and confidence building of women through medical facilities, religious education, counseling and social guidance.
This initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is a manifestation of its commitment to protect the rights of women and provide them with a dignified life.
