The participants of the 34th Senior Management Course from NIM Islamabad visited the Civil Secretariat Peshawar during their Inland Study Tour. Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provided insights into development, provincial government procedures, and related matters to the visiting group. The participants received a briefing on the provincial government’s social and economic development plans.

Briefing the meeting on the progress on completion of the project. âĒ The project was initiated under Federal PSDP in 2013, the civil work of the project is almost 90% completed. âĒ To make the hospital functional, there is a problem of non-availability of sewage lines apart from electricity and gas connections, the release of funds for the purchase of medical equipment for the hospital, and the creation of new posts for the hospital. âĒ PDA should immediately prepare a plan for the construction of the sewage line of the hospital and ensure its implementation, the issue of release of funds for the hospital should be raised with the relevant federal authorities, Syed Arshad Hussain Shah. âĒ SNAs for the creation of required posts for the hospital should be submitted in the next meeting of the provincial cabinet for approval, as a plan of action with Pesco and SNGPL authorities to provide electricity and gas connections to the hospital. Prepared, Syed Arshad Hussain Shah âĒ Khyber Institute of Child Health is an important public welfare project, no further delay will be tolerated in the completion of this project, and strict action will be taken against those guilty of negligence and negligence in this regard, Syed Arshad Hussain Shah.
A meeting on the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. The KPEC Project aims to expand economic activity between Pakistan and Afghanistan by improving regional connectivity and promoting private sector development along the Khyber Pass Corridor. The Additional Chief Secretary also underscored the need for strong coordination among stakeholders, ensuring that the initiative addresses all available potential.
PMS officers who completed their training met with Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. On this occasion, a delegation of PMS officers was briefed on government affairs, development planning.
The meeting of the Steering Committee of the Phase II program for increasing the production capacity of sugarcane and improving water courses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah. The Additional Chief Secretary was briefed about the progress of the projects. The meeting was attended by representatives of Monitoring and Evaluation, the concerned department, and the P&D sections.
A delegation led by Mr. Randall Olson, Deputy Director of USAID Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Office, meets with Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Department to jointly review portfolios. Discussions encompass Climate Change, Tourism, Public Private Partnership, and Community Resilience. Both sides express gratitude for ongoing assistance and agree to expand cooperation.
Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Coordination (MoCC&EC) organized a one-day awareness workshop in Peshawar with the support of Department of Planning and Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under UNEP NAP-Project. The aim of the workshop was to create awareness and discuss the impact of climate change with the relevant provincial departments. Dr. Syed Sarfraz Ali Shah, Adviser to Chief Minister for Planning and Development Department was the chief guest of the event. Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Mr. Asif Sahibzada, Director General Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination and Arshad Samad Khan National Technical Advisor UNEP NAP Pakistan Project also participated in the workshop.
The participants of the 39th Mid Career Management Course of National Institute of Management visited civil secretariat, Peshawar. During their visit, the participants were briefed on the Provincial Government’s administrative procedures and development plans. Chief Economist, Planning and Development Department, Mr. Muhammad Ali Asghar also attended the meeting.
