Meeting On Country Operations Review and Programming Mission Of The ADB

A meeting with the Country Operations Review and Programming Mission of the Asian Development Bank, led by Country Director Ms. Emma Fan, was held under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Ikramullah Khan. Different projects of ADB portfolio were jointly reviewed. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s pipeline projects for 2026-2028 were also discussed. The Additional Chief Secretary directed Project Directors to expedite activities and meet the objectives within the timeline, adding that the Planning and Development Department is always available to facilitate all concerned stakeholders.

4th SCM on MSCM on the Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence

The 4th Steering Committee Meeting on Multi Sectoral Coordination Mechanism on the Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Ikramullah Khan. The Additional Chief Secretary was briefed on progress made so far and Action Plans were approved for the tasks. 13th PDWP Meeting Held On 3rd March 2025

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government committed to the uniform development of the province, PDWP meeting approves 46 development projects worth over 54 billion. The thirteenth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan in which, on the special instructions of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the Agricultural Productivity Project for the merged districts was approved, which will increase agricultural production and employment opportunities in the merged districts and improve food security. This project will bring about a significant change in the lives of the common people, especially farmers, in the merged areas.

The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of relevant departments. The forum approved 46 important projects related to agriculture, tourism, health, education, environment, forestry, science technology, and information technology for the development of the province.

The meeting discussed the mapping of soil fertility of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of seed industry in the province, Increasing sustainable productivity through promotion of climate smart and efficient mechanized farming methods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Telefarming and digital services platform, Increasing agricultural productivity for crop protection and livestock, Provision and repair of additional infrastructure for existing colleges, Functionalization of newly constructed and established colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa based on need, including provision of transport facilities, BS blocks in government colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Additional classrooms and security facilities, Establishment of Secondary School Harichand, GMS Sangrai, Upgradation of Shangla District, Provision of teachers for primary, Middle, High, Higher Secondary Schools in merged areas, School Improvement Program for 02 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Feasibility Study and Establishment of Girls Cadet College DI Khan, Organization of major tourism festivals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Remodeling of secondary health facilities including improvement of Accident and Emergency Units in newly merged districts, Building under strengthening of DHQ hospitals, Covid-19, Capability to deal with any future pandemic, Remodeling of non-teaching DHQs across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of District Headquarters Hospital in Ghaziabad, District Kolai Palace, Improvement and upgradation of roads in Charsadda and construction of bridges along canals, Improvement and rehabilitation of Pali Dam Canal System in District Charsadda and improvement and rehabilitation of Tangi Irrigation Scheme, Detailed design and construction of distribution system of left and right bank canal system of Mohmand Dam District Mohmand, DI Khan Feasibility study and detailed design for provision of irrigation scheme between Khysor, Pezo and adjacent areas on CRBC left over area, Assessment study and establishment of Mines Monitoring and Surveillance Units in mineral areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Geological mapping of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of CFCs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of Tehsil Judicial Complex Balakot, Construction of Judicial Complex in Pattan, Construction of Tehsil Judicial Complex at Sarai Naurang, Directorate of Human Rights of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its district established resource centers for Public Prosecutors, Integrated facilities for Government Lawyers and Probation Officers, Shifting of EPA Lab to Forest Complex at Shami Road and establishment of Regional Labs at Abbottabad, Mingora and DI Khan, Introduction of Quinoa as a new source of livelihood along with Farm Forestry Spaces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Provision of land compensation dues for reconstruction of road along Bridge Approach Road Batkhela to Badwan District Malakand, Pen Bassi Khel, Serikandao-Gigiani B/Khel, Mori Bassi Khel, Shatal-Karizan Sayedan, Pak Band-Mori Nusrat Khel, Chera Bassi Khel, Mira Madakhel-Qabaristan, Gazar Pata M/Khel, Construction of road from Shahbat Madrasa to Babi Khel, Barakhela, Ghari Road, Badar Ziaralge Road, Surband Road, Shalon Bashi Khel Road, Goriard to Danda Japit Road, Shagai to Kalish Road, Shingal Road from Asri to Baju Banda, Shingal Road, Torghar Road, Construction of Tikatak to Haya Sarai Bridge, Regional GDP, Development of Economic Indicators, Improvement, Widening and Black-topping of Thakot Darband Road, Revamping of PEOC and MES Section and Development of MES for KPDMA, Establishment of Gender and Child Cell in PDMA, Relief and Rehabilitation, Establishment of Camp Management Support Unit for Displaced Persons (DPs) in KPDMA, Feasibility Study and Expansion of Emergency Rescue Services to Conduct Mine Action Operations, Rescue 1122 Services up to Tehsil Level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa And the establishment of substations, beautification and landscaping projects of Bannu Road from GPO to Bab Darra, Dera Ismail Khan have been approved.

A Special PDWP Meeting Held Today

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government committed to the uniform development of the province
A special meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan
In the special Provincial Development Working Party meeting, 16 schemes worth more than Rs48 billion were cleared for the federal PSDP and 3 schemes of AIP were approved, costing about Rs2 billion and many other schemes were approved as well.
The forum approved 23 important projects related to social welfare, primary and secondary and higher education, environment, energy and power, health and science technology and information technology for the development of the province.
The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of the relevant departments.
The projects include purchase of electric BRT buses, solarization of existing schemes of PHE department under CPEC, construction of bulk drinking water supply scheme in UC Agra, Tehsil Batkhela, Malakand district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provision of drinking water to Hangu city and Tal city, construction of Khal Greater Water Supply Scheme in Lower Dir, establishment of Danish Model School in Lakki Marwat district, Chief Minister’s Mail Program in girls’ primary schools of Peshawar district, establishment of Women’s University Swabi, Batakandi-Naran Hydropower Project, Mansehra, Shangla Ghorband Hydropower Project, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, FR Bannu, FR Lakki, FR Tank FRDI Khan, District Kurram, Orakzai, TSD Darra, Peshawar, District Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber, provision of new, bifurcation, re-conductoring of 11 KV feeders, zigzag technology to 400 traditional brick kilns. Mitigating climate change through conversion to, Establishment of Forensic Science Laboratory in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Socio-Economic Registry, Establishment of Center of Excellence for Autism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Digital Talent Ecosystem (Phase 1), National Precision Medicine Initiative: Leveraging Big Data in Biology and Medicine for Better Patient Outcomes, Power Supply to Bannu, Chitral and DI Khan Economic Zones, 1 Million Skilled Youth Program for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Construction Machinery Training Institute and Upgradation of Bacha Khan Medical Complex Swabi.

Meeting With IFAD
