A meeting regarding Comprehsive Food Security & Livelihood Assessment (CFSLA) held under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahidullah Khan. Chief Economist P&D, Mr. Arifullah Awan, representatives from World Food Programme, BOS and government departments attended the meeting. Secretary was briefed regarding interventions in different districts and tool for questionnaire.
A meeting regarding World Bank funded Temporary Displaced Persons – Emergency Recovery Project (TDP-ERP) / Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Citizen Centric Service Delivery Project held in Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahidullah Khan chaired the meeting while secretary relief Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and representative from EAD attended the meeting along with Bill & Melenda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and AFD.
World Bank’s portfolio review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Shahidullah Khan. Chief Economist Mr. Arifullah Awan, Chief IDS Sara Rehman and representatives of Sections and Fields attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the progress of the ongoing projects was reviewed while the action plan for the new projects was agreed upon. The Secretary directed the Project Directors to expedite the implementation of the ongoing projects to achieve the project goals.
The Country Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) met the Secretary Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahidullah Khan to discuss different areas of cooperation.
The mission meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah.
In the meeting, various activities under the project were reviewed. The Additional Chief Secretary urged to speed up the activities of all departments under the project and increase the effectiveness of the project in the merged districts so that more people can benefit from it. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project aims to prioritize work in agriculture, local government and other sectors in the integrated areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Additional Chief Secretary further said that the project has a very important role in the development of the merged districts.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Municipalities Mr. Muhammad Dawood Khan, Secretary Public Health Engineering Mr. Shahid Sohail, World Bank delegation, Additional Secretary (Admin) and Project Director Mr. Shahid Ali and representatives of related departments.
The participants of the Inland Study Tour of the 35th Senior Management Course, NIM Islamabad, visited the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, enlightened the attendees about the development portfolio of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants also received a detailed presentation from Secretary Finance, Mr. Amer Sultan Tareen, about the financial matters of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additionally, the Additional Secretary of the Home Department briefed them on relevant matters and procedures. The Chief Economist of Planning and Development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Arifullah Awan, also attended the session.
The meeting of the fifth project steering committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah.
The plan includes activities like the improvement of the irrigation system and the development of modern technology for efficient use of water.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed to speed up the project activities and timely achievement of the targets keeping in mind the growing importance of the agriculture sector in the context of water wastage prevention and climate change.
Chief International Development Section Sara Rehman and other officials also attended the meeting.
