Meeting of Provincial Security Secretariat

An important meeting of the Provincial Security Secretariat (PSS) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan was held on Tuesday at the Civil Secretariat of the Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs, Peshawar, in which the affairs and progress of the organization were reviewed in detail. . Adviser to Chief Minister on Interior and Tribal Affairs Babar Saleem Swati, Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Sardar Hasan Azhar Hayat, Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Bangash, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah and other relevant officials attended the meeting. The participants of the meeting were given a detailed briefing on the progress so far including the software and other matters of the Provincial Security Secretariat. The Chief Secretary informed the meeting that the existing staff of the Home Department has been assigned to carry out the affairs of the Provincial Security Secretariat. Regular meetings are being held with the concerned federal agencies and departments to ensure speedy exchange of information and smooth running of the affairs of the Secretariat. Chief Minister Mehmood Khan appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders to make the Provincial Security Secretariat functional and asked that the provincial government should provide all required support, including the provision of funds and staff, on a priority basis to make the Secretariat fully functional. will It was decided in the meeting that Apex Committee meeting will be held after every six months for policy level decisions. Similarly, a meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee will be held after every three months. Apart from this, it has also been decided to integrate the Fusion Cell established at Headquarters XI Corps with the Provincial Security Secretariat to ensure speedy exchange of information. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to prepare strategies to deal with cases of illegal SIM cards, NCP vehicles, cyber crimes, explosives and extortion etc. It was also decided on this occasion that the Secretariat will share the monthly progress report of the partners with the Chief Minister Secretariat and Headquarters XI Corps while the Home Department will have its own procedures for receiving public complaints regarding extortion and other illegal cases.
