KP Government Releases Rs 25.5 Billion For Public Welfare Sectors

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government releases Rs 25.5 billion for public welfare sectors in the fourth quarter of the Annual Development Program 2025-26
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the release of Rs 25 billion 529.121 billion in development funds for the fourth quarter for ongoing projects under the Annual Development Program 2025-26.
In these ongoing funds, priority has been given to those sectors that are directly related to public welfare and service provision. Significant amounts have been allocated for the health, education, drinking water and sanitation, roads, irrigation and water management, agriculture and local government sectors to ensure uninterrupted completion of essential services and development projects.
Under the health sector, Rs 1.40 billion has been released for hospitals, primary health centers and ongoing health programs. Rs 1.13 billion has been allocated for the drinking water and sanitation sector to expand water supply and sanitation projects in urban and rural areas. In the education sector, Rs 696.3 million has been released for primary and secondary education and Rs 1.105.6 billion for higher education to improve the infrastructure and educational facilities of schools, colleges and universities.
Rs 3.742.6 billion has been released for the roads sector to improve connectivity and accessibility, which is the largest amount in this tranche. Rs 3.734.4 billion has been given to the water sector for irrigation, flood protection and water management projects. Rs 589.1 million has been allocated for the agriculture sector and Rs 1.776.5 billion for local governments to further improve the rural economy and local government services.
Planning and Development Department officials say that the purpose of releasing the funds is to accelerate the completion of development projects and improve the delivery of public services before the end of the financial year. All departments have been directed to expedite development works and ensure financial discipline.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is determined to ensure that the impacts of development projects are directly transferred to the people.
