On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Provincial Development Working Party has approved a solarization scheme for the deserving families of the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs. 13.6 billion. Under the scheme, free solar systems will be provided to widows, orphans, disabled, homeless people, minorities and families affected by floods and terrorism.
On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Provincial Development Working Party has approved clean drinking water and drainage schemes in the northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs. 6.29 billion. Under this project, work will be carried out in Chitral Lower, Chitral Upper, Swat, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan Upper, Kohistan Lower, Battagram, Mansehra, Torghar, Abbottabad, Kolai Palace and Haripur. Water supply works include installation of tube wells and pumping machinery, solarization of water projects, construction of intake structures, storage tanks and water distribution system, while sanitation works include improvement of streets, sewage drainage and street pavement.
An important project for Lakki Marwat district was also approved in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting. This project to improve the drainage and sanitation system in Lakki city will be completed at a cost of one billion rupees. This project was a long-standing demand of the people. Now a modern-style sewage system, construction and repair of drains and comprehensive arrangements for sanitation will be made in Lakki city. The completion of this project will not only enhance the beauty of the city but will also get rid of epidemic diseases and provide a clean environment to the citizens.
The meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Islam Zeb.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the departments including forum members.
