Meeting on Digitization of Government System

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government intensifies work on paperless governance system. A meeting was held on digitization of government system and making paperless in the planning and development department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Food, Science and Information Technology Atif Khan, Minister for Health and Finance Timur Jhagra, Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah. The meeting was informed that 170 sub-matters and procedures of 32 government departments would be digitized. The meeting approved the formation of a steering committee under the chairmanship of the Minister of Science and Information Technology, which will oversee the entire process. Under the system, files, notifications, correspondence and other matters will be digitized.

The paperless governance system and digitization of government departments will enable faster public welfare work and increase transparency in government affairs. The meeting was informed that the process of assessing the requirements of government departments for the project has already been completed and the process of acquiring software will be completed soon. The process of digitization of the government system will not only improve the performance of government officials but also speed up the work of public interest.

ECNEC Formally Approved Peshawar-D.I.Khan and Dir Moterway

KP Government Approved Three Projects under the Agriculture Reform Plan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government took a revolutionary initiative to promote agriculture in the province. In the light of the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, the Provincial Development Working Party approved three projects under the Agricultural Reform Plan. The present provincial government is taking steps under a coordinated strategy to modernize the agricultural sector in the province, achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural production and create self-employment opportunities for the people by developing the agricultural sector.

  1. Approval of a project to test the fertility of land in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs. 60 crore, the nature of fertility of agricultural land in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be determined. 450,000 land samples will be tested in a year. Farmers will be registered on Android application.
  2. In the second project, another project of Rs. 87 crore was approved for the promotion of seed (seed) industry. Under this project, 15 seed processing units and 20 new stores will be set up in the province. The duration of the project is 4 Years
  3. PDWP approves Rs 2.9 billion project for research and technology development in agriculture sector, saving Rs 60 crore in the project. The Agriculture Extension will launch an application for agriculture management information systems and agricultural research, while the Livestock Information Helpline 9211 will be upgraded. The project includes upgrading of tele farming network, digital reporting system, crop statistics through satellite imaging, mobile monitoring of field staff, web portal, mobile application and management information system, use of sensors, agriculture drones will be used.

KP Government Introduced Strategy for Timely Completion of Development Projects

In light of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan’s vision for development of the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formulated a plan of action for tracking and monitoring of key development projects. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a digital monitoring platform to expedite work on development projects and monitor progress on projects. Under the system, a dashboard has been set up for tracking of 214 important projects while 27 departments have entered information about their projects on the system. The system lists the year and date of completion of the projects which will be used to monitor the progress. The system will help in expediting the work on projects and their timely completion through the process of tracking and monitoring of development projects.

A meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah was briefed on the tracking system set up for progress on development projects of various departments. The meeting was attended by senior officers including secretaries of relevant departments. Following the approval of the Planning and Development Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, special monitoring will be carried out on the progress and pace of work on the projects. The digital monitoring platform has separate details of public-private partnerships projects, federal government-funded projects, CPEC and international aid-initiated projects. The project tracking system is overseen by Special Secretary and Chief Economist of Planning and Development Department. The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan will be briefed next month on the progress of the digital monitoring tracking system set up for development projects.  The Additional Chief Secretary will personally oversee the progress of the projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while a review meeting on the progress of development projects will be held in the P&D department every two weeks. The use of digital monitoring system will help in timely completion of public welfare projects.
