Public Private Partnership Committee Meeting on Dir & D.I.Khan Expressways

Meeting of Public Private Partnership Committee chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan. Good news for the people of the province, approval has been given for the construction of Dir Expressway and Peshawar DI Khan Motorway under public-private partnership. The Dir Expressway will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 33.5 billion. The 30 km long expressway from Chakdara to Rabat will be constructed. The construction of this highway will reduce the distance by 27 km. The four-lane expressway will have two tunnels and three interchanges.

The 360 ​​km long Peshawar DI Khan Motorway will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 243 billion. 19 interchanges and two tunnels will be constructed on this 6-lane motorway. Both mega projects have already been approved by ECNEC.

These highway projects are of utmost importance for the development of the province on a sustainable basis Mahmood Khan said. The construction of these highways will boost tourism, trade and economic activities in the province, the Chief Minister said. The process of procurement of lands required for implementation of projects should be started in time, Chief Minister said. Implementation of these projects according to timelines will be ensured Mahmood Khan said. Strict implementation of existing rules and regulations of the provincial government regarding implementation of these projects under public-private partnership should be ensured, Chief Minister said.

12th PDWP Meeting Held on 29th December 2021

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is in the process of approving development projects. Provincial Development Working Party meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah, while sections chiefs and other officials attended the meeting.

Among the notable projects approved in the meeting include BS blocks, additional classrooms in government colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while for the provision the basic facilities a project was approved at a cost of 1.60 billion. While in the merged districts, approval has been given for the upgradation of 25 middle schools in high schools at a cost of Rs 1.14 billion. Work will be done for the betterment of boys ‘and girls’ schools.

The plan for setting up of Paraplegic Center for the amalgamated districts has been approved at a cost of Rs.945 million. Paraplegic Center Sub Division will be set up in Wazir Bannu.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, work will be done on minority places of worship at a cost of Rs. 51 crore for which 109 places have been identified. A feasibility survey will made at a cost of 1.6 crore for the construction dam in Wana South Waziristan. The Rs 1.2 billion were approved for the project construction of Gozizai Small Dam in Tribal Sub-Division Tank which will ensure water availability and resolve irrigation problems in the area.

In Upper and Lower Chitral, projects worth Rs. 71 crore were approved for rehabilitation of structures destroyed by natural calamities. A plan to promote olive cultivation at a cost of Rs. 2 billion in the integrated districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been approved. Fisheries and fish ponds planned at a cost of Rs. 50 crore in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Approval of 9 km road from Sarai Noring of Farhatullah Khan Marwat Road in Bannu to Shah Tora Takht Khel at a cost of Rs. 256 million in the meeting. Hangu Samana Road in Hangu District approved at a cost of Rs. 57 crore, Feasibility Study of Gargari Chowk Road from Malik Shahi in North Waziristan at a cost of Rs. 2.1 crore was approved. In the meeting for the PSDP program of the federation, 55 km Tajzai Lucky four Lane Road was cleared at a cost of Rs 19.32 billion.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approves feasibility study of various projects under Public Private Partnership Framework including feasibility study for setting up of truck terminal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and integrated districts, feasibility study for private sector services in Toyota.

Meeting on the Development of Zakhakhel in Khyber District

 

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has prepared a comprehensive development plan of Rs. 3.3 billion for Zakhakhel in Khyber District. A new era of economic and social development will begin in the region and employment opportunities will be created.

A meeting was held in the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah. The plan has been formulated for three years under which projects in the fields of Agriculture, Irrigation, Municipalities, Industries, Public Health Engineering, Mines and Minerals, Roads will be worked on. The area includes business rehabilitation, technical trainings, youth internships, livestock and agriculture promotion, forest protection, and water supply projects.

Rs. 55 crore for irrigation projects, Rs. 35 crore for agriculture, Rs. 20 crore for support of small and medium enterprises, Rs. 173 million for technical and vocational training, Rs. 55 crore for local bodies, Rs. 79 crore for roads. Rs. 38 crore for Public Health Engineering, Rs. 11.7 crore for Forests and Mines and Minerals.

In the light of development vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, development projects are being brought on priority basis for the backward areas. The plan will be presented for approval in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting very soon.
