In South Waziristan, projects costing Rs. 35.52 billion for health, education, electricity, water, irrigation, police, dams, sports, local government, agriculture, livestock and roads are underway.
Meeting on PSDP projects in the province chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan. Apart from the Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, administrative secretaries of the concerned departments and other officials were also present. The meeting reviewed the progress made so far on the ongoing PSDP projects in the province. The meeting also reviewed the preparations for the inclusion of new projects in the PSDP for the next financial year. Decision to hold a meeting with the concerned federal departments to expedite the implementation of mega projects in the province and to resolve issues related to the federal government. To speed up the progress on these important projects and to complete them on time, work should be done outside the traditional style of work, directed the Chief Minister. Work on fast track should be ensured for timely completion of these projects, said the Chief Minister. Delays in the completion of these projects will not be tolerated, Mahmood Khan said. In case of negligence, action will be taken against the concerned authorities, the Chief Minister said. Not just briefings but practical progress on the ground, Mahmood Khan said. Ensure 100% utilization of funds released for these development projects, The Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the speed of implementation of some ongoing highway projects in the province under NHA. The CM directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to expedite the progress on these projects. The priority and workable plans of the provincial government for inclusion in the PSD for the next financial year should be finalized in time, the Chief Minister said. PC1s of all proposed projects to be included in new PSDP should be approved by PDWP by end of this month Mahmood Khan said.
A total of 143 projects are underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under PSDP, briefing said. Out of these, 69 projects are being implemented by the provincial government while 74 projects are being implemented by the federal government.
The issue of purchase of land for construction of 32 km Northern Bypass Road Peshawar has been resolved, briefing said. The project will be completed by December 2022 at a cost of Rs 21 billion.
The plan to make 89 km old Bannu road two lanes at a cost of Rs 17 billion will be completed by August 2022, briefing said. Land Acquisition for Construction of 153 Km Chitral-Boni-Mastuja-Shandor Road In progress, the Briefing said. Tender for 46 km Chitral-Avon-Bamburit road project to be issued within a month, the briefing said.
According to the briefing 63 projects in various sectors have been identified for inclusion in PSDP for FY 2022-23. Out of these proposed projects, PC1s of 32 projects have been prepared so far.
Provincial Development Working Party meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah in the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which 33 projects costing a total of Rs 49 billion were approved. The meeting was attended by forum members, sections chiefs, and official staff. Notable projects approved include an integrated package for Zakhakhel Khyber District at a cost of Rs. 3312 million and it will revolutionize the fields of agriculture, irrigation and industry.
Approved projects include construction of BRICS Dam, development of regional GDP / economic indicators, construction of multi-storey commercial / residential building on 5 Kanal 11 Marla land on Warsak Road Peshawar, extension of Emergency Rescue Services 1122 to Tehsil level and Khyber. Establishment of substations in Pakhtunkhwa, provision of municipal services / civic amenities in major towns of newly merged districts, construction of solar tube wells, bus terminals in South Waziristan district, beautification in urban areas etc., fruit and vegetable market in Orakzai district. , Cattle Fair Market, Construction of Slaughterhouse, Strengthening District Development Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Municipal Services Delivery Project, Kundal Dam District Swabi Spillway Modification, Exit Channel and Irrigation System / Related Component Improvements, Barwasa Dam District Construction of Haripur, provision of small grants for students of religious madrassas of integrated areas for setting up small scale business, establishment of computer labs in religious madrassas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provision of free textbooks in integrated districts, Kohi Soleimani Upgradation of 40.0 km road to Darazanda, Shishikoh Madqalshat Road 43 Construction of 40.0 km road from Kumrat to Kalam, setting up of processing units in DI Khan and Swat districts to harness the potential for production of vegetables, dates and fruits and income generation, with special emphasis on cold water fisheries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Upon the directions of Director General, Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Deputy Director(MAs), M&E, Peshawar Division along with team of Public Health Engineering paid a site-visit to AIP schemes: Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Drinking Water Schemes in Newly Merged Districts. Team monitored physical and financial progress. For the uplift of people of Newly Merged Districts government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had initiated such multiple projects.
Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah chaired weekly, internal review meeting with all chiefs of sections and attached units of P&D. In meeting progress of different development projects, already assigned tasks and, monitoring and evaluation system were discussed. All concerned sections and attached units presented their progress works which were thoroughly discussed and were given directions accordingly.
In order to follow up on the Memorandam of Understand(MOUs) signed in Dubai Expo, the representatives of InfraCo Asia and Enertech visited Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday and had productive meetings with Shahab Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Agenda of the meetings was to agree upon a way forward pertaining tourism related projects, solarization facilities and transmission line and energy related projects. It is pertinent to highlight that government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recently participated in Dubai Expo, where multiple such MOUs signed. All the MOUs have been endorsed by the Cabinet. It was agreed in the meetings that an action plan having timeline of activities and sub activities shall be devised and agreed upon in order to execute the plan in a structured manner.
On the special directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, the Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is holding these meetings to implement all these agreements of Dubai Expo and to provide administrative facilities and assistance.
A review meeting of the department was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shehab Ali Shah in the Planning and Development Department of the department.
The meeting discussed progress on development projects, tasks assigned to sections, and measures to improve the monitoring and evolution system.
The projects are being monitored and tracked in P&D department for timely completion of development projects in the light of instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan.
PESHAWAR: The 15th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved schemes worth Rs 322630 million.
Under the chairmanship of Shahab Ali Shah, the additional chief secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the approval was accorded at the meeting of the PDWP.
Approved schemes include project like Peshawar Uplift Program Phase II, which will provide recreational facilities for citizens, clean drinking water and beautification of the city.
The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum approved 37 projects schemes pertaining to Industries, Higher Education, Relief and Rehabilitation, C&W, Local Government, Rural Development, Health, Sports&Tourism, Energy and Power, and Board of Revenue sectors for the uplift of the province.
