Consultative Meeting on Draft ADP 2025-26 Round II

A consultative meeting was held in the P&D Department on the Annual Development Program for 2025-26. The meeting brought a detailed review of the department’s annual development programs. The meeting, chaired by Secretary P&D Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Adeel Shah, was attended by P&D officials, including secretaries of the concerned departments. The meeting reviewed the progress made so far on the Annual Development Program for the year 2025-26. The P&D Department is taking practical steps to give a systematic shape to public welfare projects under an integrated strategy, and regular consultative meetings are being held in this regard.

Review Meeting of NHSP

A review meeting of the World Bank-funded National Health Support Program (NHSP) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Adeel Shah, Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the participation of the Implementation Support Mission.
The meeting focused on assessing the implementation progress of the NHSP across the province. Mr. Adeel Shah emphasized the importance of maintaining a steady pace in executing the project and resolved that all associated issues be addressed promptly to avoid delays.
The Secretary directed all relevant departments to provide full cooperation and support to the NHSP project team.
The Planning and Development Department reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the health system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through coordinated and results-oriented implementation of the NHSP.

Meeting on Decision Support System for Inflation and Price Monitoring

The Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics held a workshop on orientation and training for the effective utilization of the Decision Support System for Inflation and Price Monitoring. Meeting Regarding Implementation of Amer-Bil-Marof Plan

A meeting was held in the Planning and Development Department on the implementation of the Annual Awareness of Amer-bil-Marof Plan among the police force. The meeting detailed review of the plan.  The meeting was chaired by Adviser to Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption, Mosaddiq Hussain and attended by the Chairman Provincial Inspection Team, Khayyam Hassan Khan, Secretary Planning and Development, Adeel Shah, and the relevant officials of the Police Force, Planning and Development, Provincial Inspection Team. Secretary Planning and Development Adeel Shah and the police representative briefed on the progress made so far in implementing the Annual Awareness Amar-Bil-Maruf Plan in their respective departments. The briefing was informed about the formation of steering committees at the departmental level. Adviser to the Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption Mosaddiq Abbasi, while emphasizing thrift and punctuality within the departments, said that honest officials should be brought forward in the departments and praised. A complaint system should be established within the police department so that complaints can be resolved. There is a dire need for awareness to prevent corruption. He directed the timely implementation of the given task.

Interactive Capacity Building Training Workshop

The PPP Unit, Planning and Development Department-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa successfully organized a one-day Interactive Capacity Building Training Workshop at Business Incubation Center, UOP, for employees of the various Universities under Higher Education Department.
The workshop commenced with the theme of PPP Framework in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Chief PPP, Shehryar Mehmood. It was followed by Introduction to PPPs and standard PPP structure by Muhammad Afnan Raza; PPP Pipeline Projects and Potential of PPPs in Higher Education in KP by Jalal Ahmad; Financial Modelling by Madam Kainat Ashraf and PPP Transaction Structure by Dawood Iqbal.
The training was designed to equip HED employees with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively implement innovative PPP solutions in development projects, thereby contributing to the financial sustainability of universities, and overall economic growth and development.

A Wrap-Up Meeting of KPHCIP

A wrap-up meeting of the World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KPHCIP) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Adeel Shah, Secretary P&D Department, KP.
The session reviewed the progress of the project’s key components—Education and Health. Senior officials from IDS, Health, Education Departments, and PMUs attended. The World Bank team appreciated the progress made so far and commended the improvements.
Secretary P&D, Mr. Adeel Shah, urged for regular internal review meetings and accelerated efforts to meet project targets on time.

KPRIISP- Workshop On Environmental and Social Capacity Building

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project (KP-RIISP) has organized a two-day capacity-building workshop for the implementing partners on Environmental and Social Safeguards. The workshop was aimed at introducing various topics about the risks, impacts and solutions related to potential environmental and social risks for consideration and diligence in the implementation of the project activities. The workshop brought together relevant officials from the partner line departments of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Planning & Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Agriculture Department KP, Communication and Works Department, Khyber,Irrigation Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Public Health Engineering Department KP, and Directorate General Local Government & Rural Development.

A Meeting With UN RCO

A meeting with the UN RCO, head of office, Ms. Afke Bootsman, was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Adeel Shah. Representatives from IDS, BOS, and other sections of P&D attended the meeting.
Various areas of cooperation were discussed, including strengthening provincial bureaus of statistics on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Participants of 43rd MCMC of The NIPA Vistied P&D Department

Participants from the 43rd MCMC of the National Institution of Public Administration (NIPA), Islamabad, visited the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, today as part of an inland study tour. They attended a special meeting chaired by Secretary Planning and Development Department, Mr. Adeel Shah.
Representatives from the Finance and Home Departments and M&E Directorate P&D briefed the participants on their respective departments and Directorate respectively. Chief Economist Mr. Arifullah Awan provided an in-depth briefing on the Planning and Development Department, focusing on Development Portfolio, Strategic High Impact Flagship Targets, Mega Foreign Funded projects, PPP interventions and institutional arrangements.
A question-and-answer session followed, during which the Secretary highlighted the government’s priorities and milestones achieved in sectors like health and education, and finally wished them well for their journey ahead.
