The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to the uniform development of the province, and in the PDWP meeting, it approved development projects worth more than 58 billion. The 17th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was chaired by Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting approved the Digital Skill project to make the youth employable was approved for Rs 1.3 billion; more than 27 thousand youth will benefit from the project. Out of these, about 2800 youth will be provided opportunities for global certification in the next phase, which will prove beneficial for the youth in their startup businesses as well as for the local economy. Moreover, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken an important step to rid children of stomach worms, under which a project of the Health Department at a cost of Rs 18.6 crore has been approved in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting. The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of the relevant departments. The forum approved 60 important projects related to STIT, livestock, sports, agriculture, tourism, health, relief, and education for the development of the province. The meeting approved development plans for various sectors.
The meeting discussed the construction of 4 km blacktop road from Naskora to Karha in Sub-Division Darazandha (Phase I), access to rural roads in Wadi Barwal, Bebiwar, Darora, Hattan, Chakiatan, and Rokhan (15 km), rehabilitation of link road from Main Gabbar Shadi Khel Road to Kotka Gul Nawaz Wada (5-km) to TSD Lakki, improvement of Thal Mirali North Waziristan Road (54-Km), establishment of vehicle fitness and emission testing certification system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and feasibility study, integrated development package for DI Khan, integrated development package for TSD Wazir Jani Khel, research studies, consultancies, surveys, detailed designs, feasibility studies (aerial and geophysical surveys), development and expansion of gas supply of HT and LT lines, supply of transformers, rehabilitation of HT and LT lines and distribution of 11kv feeds, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of Emergency Rescue Services Rescue 1122 in 7 tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Biosphere Reserve and Conservancies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, employable digital skills initiatives for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rehabilitation of NRC godowns in Azakhel, Nowshera district, adaptation of Bhag Nari (cattle breed) in DI Khan region and its beef Research studies on exploring the potential of the sector, establishment of model dairy farms in SDW and North Waziristan, promotion of farm fisheries in FR Bannu, development of trout fisheries in tribal districts, strengthening of existing agricultural research stations and institutes in DI Khan, Karak and Model Farm Sang Bhatti Swabi, promotion of honey production for livelihood improvement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Wrokshop On Five Years National Electric Vehicle Policy

A workshop was held at the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar, on the new five-year National Electric Vehicle Policy to be introduced at the national level to make the environment sustainable and reduce pollution. The workshop was chaired by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Industries Abdul Karim Tordhier, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Transport Rangiz Khan and Federal Secretary for Industries and Commerce Saif Anjum.
The workshop was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akramullah Khan, Secretary Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adeel Shah and relevant officials. The objective of the workshop was to increase awareness of relevant stakeholders about the new national policy and to enhance cooperation between the national and provincial governments in this regard.

Review Meeting on The Progress of World Bank Financed Protfolio

A high-level meeting was held at the Planning and Development Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to review the progress of the World Bank-financed portfolio. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), and attended by senior officials, including departmental secretaries, the World Bank’s Operations Manager Mr. Gailius Draugelis, and other representatives from the Bank.
The session focused on reviewing implementation status across ongoing projects, addressing operational challenges, and devising strategies to enhance execution and impact. Deliberations underscored the need for improved interdepartmental coordination, timely decision-making, and ensuring quality outcomes.
Mr. Ikramullah Khan emphasized the urgency of accelerating project implementation and directed all Project Directors to expedite activities to meet agreed timelines. He reaffirmed the Government’s full commitment and assured the World Bank team of continued support from his office and all relevant departments to foster a strong and results-oriented partnership.
The World Bank team appreciated the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s performance, noting that the province had achieved the highest disbursement in recent years under the World Bank portfolio—reflecting improved project readiness and execution capacity.

KP Government Launced Good Governance Roadmap

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has crossed another milestone under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, with the launch of the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap. A ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday to launch the roadmap. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended the ceremony as the chief guest and officially launched the roadmap. Provincial cabinet members, senior government officials, representatives of partner institutions and journalists attended the ceremony. This roadmap includes goals related to good governance, best security system and smart development, these goals will be achieved in the next two years. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, while addressing the ceremony, paid tribute to the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and their entire team for the preparation and launch of the Good Governance Roadmap. He said that this roadmap has been prepared after a careful review of the governance situation in various sectors in the province during the last 15 months, in which the provincial government’s key priorities in the areas of governance, development and security have been determined. Moreover, clear targets have also been set for achieving these priorities. The Chief Minister said that this roadmap will be an effective measure to evaluate the performance of departments and institutions as well as government officers. Under the roadmap, a system of punishment and reward will be formulated for government officers based on their performance. The promotion and posting transfers of officers will also be based on their performance. Ali Amin Gandapur said that through this roadmap, in addition to improving service delivery in the province, transparency and merit will also be ensured in the system. The implementation of this roadmap will significantly improve governance in the province. Ali Amin Gandapur said that there is always room for improvement, the effort is to make service delivery in line with public needs and expectations, the good governance roadmap will play a key role in implementing our vision. He clarified that this is basically a governance roadmap, service delivery, security and development are all part of it. The Chief Minister said that it is very important to have a system of punishment and reward to improve governance. He added that this roadmap has been prepared with great effort, the participants should also give their suggestions so that it can be further improved. The Chief Minister said that his government has worked to make full use of the potential sectors during the last 15 months, we all have to work together to deal with all the challenges including governance and security. Earlier, while informing the participants about the details of the proposed goals under the good governance roadmap, 12 sub-sectors have been identified for the improvement of the governance sector. Appointments and transfers will be based on performance. Provincial action plans will be implemented for strong and excellent security, while under the goal of smart development, timely completion of mega projects will be ensured and funds will be provided for the projects on a priority basis. In addition, measures to promote investment are also included in the goals. Significant targets have also been set in the relevant sectors for the effective achievement of the desired results of the roadmap. In the health sector, 250 basic health centers and rural health centers will be upgraded and made functional for maternity 24/7. A target has been set to ensure 100 percent availability of medicines in all hospitals. In the education sector, a target has been set to reduce the number of out-of-school children by 50 percent. Similarly, scholarships and equipment will be given to ten thousand special people, while a digital welfare registry will be launched. Agricultural development has also been included as an important goal of the roadmap. Under the Public Private Partnership, targets have been set for the development of 571 acres of Harichand Dairy Farm, vaccination of 90,000 livestock and planting of 1,000 high-quality fruit orchards. In addition, two million wild olive plants will be grafted. Four new economic zones of Daraban, Mohmand, Bannu and Karak will be activated and 32 technical training institutions will be upgraded. Furthermore, under the roadmap, work will be started on the DI Khan-Peshawar Motorway, the Peshawar New General Bus Stand and Northern Bypass projects will be completed, solid waste management will be improved in important districts and 70 parks will be upgraded. In addition, four mineral zones will be established. 14,000 residential plots will be developed in New Peshawar Valley and 130,000 low-income households will be shifted to solar energy. More than 50 new tourist centers and 25 sites will be developed in the tourism sector, a homestay program will be launched in seven tourist districts. More than 100 services will be provided online for the convenience of the public. A comprehensive and effective monitoring system will be in place for the implementation of the roadmap, implementation will be reviewed through quarterly meetings at the Chief Minister’s House, while the Chief Secretary’s Office will itself monitor institutional reforms and administrative performance. Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah and Additional Chief Secretary Ikramullah, while addressing, shed detailed light on various aspects of the Good Governance Roadmap.
