On the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mahmood Khan, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Shahab Ali Shah regarding the progress in the establishment of Land Use and Building Control Authority in which the relevant officials participated. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the procedures and resources for the establishment of the Land Use and Building Control Authority in the presence of the representatives of the relevant departments. The Additional Chief Secretary directed to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the establishment of the Authority. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mahmood Khan has also approved the District Land Use Plan for six districts in the council meeting.

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is working on several projects in the fields of roads, irrigation, education and public health engineering in Karak, Hangu and Kohat under the Kohat Division Development Programme. The work plan of the project was approved in the meeting.

A two-day workshop on Communication Strategy & Public Relation Toolkit was organized by Social Protection & Gender Mainstreaming Section of Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the support of the Women’s Empowerment & Political Participation project of CoWater International. Signing ceremony of the phase III of German funded Social Health Protection program was held in Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additional Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahab Ali Shah formally signed the Grant Financing Agreement in the presence of Secretary Health, Mr. Amir Sultan Tareen and KfW’s team comprising of Portfolio Manager in Health and Social Protection KfW, Ms Anna Berezovskaja and Technical Advisor, KfW, Dr. Matthias Nachtnebel. The program will assist Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on digital patient registration system, electronic referral module , clinical decision-making support and application.
An important meeting of the Provincial Security Secretariat (PSS) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan was held on Tuesday at the Civil Secretariat of the Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs, Peshawar, in which the affairs and progress of the organization were reviewed in detail. . Adviser to Chief Minister on Interior and Tribal Affairs Babar Saleem Swati, Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Sardar Hasan Azhar Hayat, Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Bangash, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah and other relevant officials attended the meeting. The participants of the meeting were given a detailed briefing on the progress so far including the software and other matters of the Provincial Security Secretariat. The Chief Secretary informed the meeting that the existing staff of the Home Department has been assigned to carry out the affairs of the Provincial Security Secretariat. Regular meetings are being held with the concerned federal agencies and departments to ensure speedy exchange of information and smooth running of the affairs of the Secretariat. Chief Minister Mehmood Khan appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders to make the Provincial Security Secretariat functional and asked that the provincial government should provide all required support, including the provision of funds and staff, on a priority basis to make the Secretariat fully functional. will It was decided in the meeting that Apex Committee meeting will be held after every six months for policy level decisions. Similarly, a meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee will be held after every three months. Apart from this, it has also been decided to integrate the Fusion Cell established at Headquarters XI Corps with the Provincial Security Secretariat to ensure speedy exchange of information. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to prepare strategies to deal with cases of illegal SIM cards, NCP vehicles, cyber crimes, explosives and extortion etc. It was also decided on this occasion that the Secretariat will share the monthly progress report of the partners with the Chief Minister Secretariat and Headquarters XI Corps while the Home Department will have its own procedures for receiving public complaints regarding extortion and other illegal cases. It will be published on the relevant website.
The Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has notified a Provincial Advisory Committee to review the development interventions in the province in different areas.
The first Provincial Advisory Committee Meeting of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahab Ali Shah.
During the meeting, different proposed concepts in the field of Agriculture, Tourism, and Social Welfare came under discussion including (i) Deaf reaching the center of excellence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ii) Food Security and Business Promotion through integrated farm services centers and (iii) Integrated Tourism and Agri – Tourism Development plan for mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The KfW mission called on Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahab Ali Shah regarding Climate Resilient Infrastructure Fund.
During the meeting significance of climate resilient infrastructure in the post flood scenario came under discussion. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shared the mechanism it has devised for enforcement of climate-resilience in new infrastructure to be rolled out. KfW appreciated efforts of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for recovery from flood-induced disasters and its plans to embed climate resilience in project planning and design.
