Establishment of Virtual Citizen Facilitation Center

Establishment of Virtual Citizen Facilitation Center to help citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa avail key public sector services online
The project aims to facilitate citizens by providing access to key public sector services from various government departments through a single online interface.
The project will also look into digitizing the backend process of key citizens facing services offered by various departments.
The Virtual Citizens Facilitation Centre CFC will provide access to 19 services of Excise, Revenue, Taxation, Narcotics, Local Govt, Home department and DC Offices.
Services such as the provision of Birth certificate, Death certificate, Divorce certificate, Marriage certificate, Water connection and billing, Application for trade licenses, Complaint management system, waste disposal and drainage clearance, mobile app for building plan approval, Encroachment management system, E-property transfer, Request for correction of land record, Request for obtaining attested copies from the DK room, Request for the land record and boundary identification, File tracking management system of record room, verification of vehicles from the manufacturing companies, Delivery of registration books and number plate, Arms licences, Domicile certificate would be digitized and offered online.
With the launch of the CFC initiative, transparency, accessibility, and efficiency of public service delivery systems would be improved significantly.
A detailed presentation was given to Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan on Virtual CFC and its functions here at the P&D Department today. The meeting was attended by Secretary ST&IT, Secretary Education, Special Secretary P&D, MD KPIT-Board and Industries, Education Section of the P&D department. The meeting also discussed the Early Age Programming initiative of the KP IT Board. The meeting was informed that more than 40,000 students and 800 teachers have been trained under Early Age Programming.

21st PDWP Held On 29 April 2021

The 21st meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Shakeel Qadir Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 29th April, 2021 through video link. The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum considered 17 schemes pertaining to Local Government, Urban Development, Multi Sectoral Development, Industries, Higher Education, E&SE, Water, Social Welfare and Home sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 14 schemes with an estimated cost of Rs. 34,141.985 million. 1 revised scheme of PSDP was also cleared by the forum. 03 schemes were deferred due to deficiencies in project documents/PC-I and were returned to the respective department for rectification.

Consultation Continues on ADP 2021-22

Consultation continues on annual development program for the financial year 2021-22 in P&D department. Today the projects proposed by the education department and roads sector were reviewed in detail. The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan and was attended by Secretary P&D, Chief Economist, Special Secretary P&D, Resource Center officials, and officials of relevant sections. In the next few days, the Annual Development Program 2021-22 will be finalized  while after Eid, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be briefed.

Bank of Khyber Earns Rs. 439 Million PAT for The 1st Quarter Ended March 31st 2021

BOK posted Rs.439 million profit after tax (PAT) for the 1st quarter ended March 31st 2021. This was informed during 166th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank held on 26 April, 2021 in Peshawar. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Chairman Board of Director’s.
Due to the prevailing Pandemic COVID-19, most members attended the meeting via video link, Attendees included Mr. Atif Rehman, Finance Secretary, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Maqsood Ismail Ahmad, Mr. Javed Akhtar, Mr. Asad Muhammad Iqbal, Mr. Rashid Ali Khan, Ms. Saleha Asif and Managing Director (A) BOK, Mr. Ihsan Ullah Ihsan.
The third wave of COVID-19 continues to take toll on economies around the world. Although worldwide vaccination is underway, the pandemic has yet to be contained. Pakistan has been hit particularly hard by the third wave and the government is taking various measures in the health sector and allowing certain incentives and relaxations to ease difficult business conditions.
Despite non conducive business environment, the Bank of Khyber has demonstrated good financial performance. An upward trajectory has been witnessed in all the major financial indicators which is the result of proactive and prudent approach in handling fallout of the pandemic.
For the quarter ended March 31, 2021, the Bank posted Rs.653 million profit before tax whereas profit after tax with decrease of 20% stood at Rs.439 million as compared to Rs.548 million for the same period of 2020.
With slight increase from the year end 2020, deposits and advances stood at Rs.214,984 million and Rs.142,888 million respectively. Investments with a minor increase stood at Rs.117,164 million.
At the end of the quarter under review, the Bank was operating with 180 branches, 11 sub-branches and 7 permanent booths throughout the country wherein 92 branches were working as dedicated Islamic Banking Branches.

Finalization of Annual Development Programme 2021-22

The P&D Department has started preparations to finalize the annual development program of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the financial year 2021-22. In this regard, a meeting was held in the Planning and Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Qadir Khan. Chief Economist, Special Secretary P&D and Section Chiefs also participated in the meeting.

The meeting decided to finalize the annual development program for the financial year 2021-22. In the first week of May, the line departments will be consulted again regarding the annual development program, after which the department will conduct its internal consultation on the annual development program before Eid. After Eid, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be briefed on the annual development program for the new financial year. Priority will be given to the completion of ongoing projects in the year 2021-22.

Secretary P&D Visited Remzan Insaf Sasta Bazzar in Karak

Secretary P&D Amir Sultan Tareen visited Ramzan Insaf Sasta Bazaar in Karak Bazaar. Secretary P&D inspected various stalls set up in Ramzan Sasta Bazaar, reviewed the prices and appreciated the performance of the district administration.

While briefing Secretary P&D the Deputy Commissioner Karak said that in the light of special instructions issued by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to ensure the supply of food items to the citizens of Karak on government tariffs, in collaboration with TMA Karak and District Food Officer Karak, Ramadan Cheap Bazaar has been set up with the aim of providing affordable items to the citizens during the holy month of Ramadan. The district administration is taking steps to provide maximum relief to the citizens during the holy month of Ramadan so that the poor can also join in the joys of Ramadan. He said that the district administration is using all available resources to provide cheap food items to the citizens in Ramadan Sasta Bazaar and an increase in the prices of food items will not be tolerated in this month under any circumstances. He further said that traders of Ramzan Sasta Bazaar would buy vegetables and fruits from the market without any commission and there would be no role of middlemen in them. However, the sale of vegetables and fruits at government rates would be monitored by the district administration and facilities to traders will be provided by TMA.
