46th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Trans Peshawar
On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the 46th meeting of the Board of Directors of Trans Peshawar was held at the Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary P&D Mr. Islam Zeb.
All board members attended the meeting. The board first reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the 45th meeting and expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far.
In view of the increasing demand and rush of passengers, the 46th meeting approved the purchase and induction of 52 new electric and 50 hybrid buses in the system to further improve the environment-friendly operation of Peshawar BRT and reduce carbon emissions. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and the increasing rush pressure, it was also approved to start new feeder bus routes on Ring Road, Dalazak Road and Khyber Road as well as to run additional buses on the main BRT corridor to reduce the waiting time. It is also worth mentioning that Trans Peshawar has recently received ISO 9001-2015 certification for its excellent quality management system. Despite the increase in fuel prices, no increase in fares has been made in the interest of the public and passengers. The board directed the management of Trans Peshawar to complete the process of purchasing new buses and issuing routes at the earliest and in the meantime, ensure strict implementation of all quality and safety norms.
Rs. 149 Billion Approved for 47 Development Projects in April PDWP Meetings

On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Provincial Development Working Party has approved a solarization scheme for the deserving families of the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs. 13.6 billion. Under the scheme, free solar systems will be provided to widows, orphans, disabled, homeless people, minorities and families affected by floods and terrorism.
On the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Provincial Development Working Party has approved clean drinking water and drainage schemes in the northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs. 6.29 billion. Under this project, work will be carried out in Chitral Lower, Chitral Upper, Swat, Dir Upper, Dir Lower, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan Upper, Kohistan Lower, Battagram, Mansehra, Torghar, Abbottabad, Kolai Palace and Haripur. Water supply works include installation of tube wells and pumping machinery, solarization of water projects, construction of intake structures, storage tanks and water distribution system, while sanitation works include improvement of streets, sewage drainage and street pavement.
An important project for Lakki Marwat district was also approved in the Provincial Development Working Party meeting. This project to improve the drainage and sanitation system in Lakki city will be completed at a cost of one billion rupees. This project was a long-standing demand of the people. Now a modern-style sewage system, construction and repair of drains and comprehensive arrangements for sanitation will be made in Lakki city. The completion of this project will not only enhance the beauty of the city but will also get rid of epidemic diseases and provide a clean environment to the citizens.
The meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Islam Zeb.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the departments including forum members.

21 Development Projects Worth Over Rs 34 Billion Approved in PDWP Meeting
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to the uniform development of the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is implementing public interest projects under the Sustainable Development Plan.
Two projects worth over Rs 8 billion approved for the upgradation of 16 major highways of the city under the Peshawar Revitalization Plan
On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, two projects for the upgradation and improvement of major highways of Peshawar city were approved in the 20th PDWP meeting.
These projects will provide safe, convenient and quality travel facilities to the citizens of Peshawar and the city’s infrastructure will be improved according to modern requirements.
On the directions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, approval has been given to provide dialysis services to kidney patients in 7 DHQ hospitals of the merged districts.
Under the project, dialysis services will be provided to kidney patients in DHQ hospitals Khar Bajaur, Miranshah North Waziristan, Ghalnai Mohmand, Parachinar Karam Upper, Wana South Waziristan, Landi Kotal Khyber and Masti Mela Orakzai.
This project is an important step in providing health facilities to the people of poor and backward areas, improving access to treatment and reducing the burden of referral to big hospitals.
The twentieth meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party was held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Islam Zeb.
The meeting was attended by PDWP members and officers of the concerned departments. The forum approved 21 important projects related to local government, education, primary, secondary and higher education, board of revenue, health and forests for the development of the province.
The approved projects include feasibility study and development, improvement, rehabilitation of infrastructure for upgrading Pakistan Forest Institute to a degree awarding institute, feasibility study for conservation of non-timber forest produce through other effective area-based conservation measures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provision of dialysis services in DHQ hospitals of merged districts, construction of district headquarters of Upper Chitral district, construction of district secretariat of Kolai Pals Kohistan district, feasibility study, design and construction of Central Jail Malakand, feasibility study and implementation of additional works for upgrading District Jail Kohat to Central Jail Kohat, upgradation and improvement of major roads and routes of Peshawar City, construction of Level-2 flyover at Ring Road-GT Road intersection.
In addition, the projects included include improvement and blacktopping of 15 km of roads, construction and blacktopping of Sawari Bypass Road Buner, and construction, expansion and blacktopping of Batara Akhon Kalay Road via Kozh Shamnal Buner, which also includes the cost of land.
An integrated development package has been approved for District DI Khan. While approval has been given for the construction of tehsil buildings in Haripur, Shabqadar, Charsadda and Bakakhel Bannu.
Two projects of the Higher Education Department have been approved, which include making newly constructed and established colleges functional in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and providing transport facilities as per the requirement, while a project for Pak-Austria Fakhushola Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology is included.
A project for the improvement of Girls Cadet College in Mardan is included under the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. A project for the implementation of the management plan of Sheikh Badin National Park in the forest sector has also been approved.
The scheme for operational preparedness for Monsoon 2026 for Rescue 1122 has been approved and in addition, a scheme for research studies, consultancies, surveys, detailed designs and feasibility studies has also been approved, which includes fire response vehicles in difficult areas, integration of municipal fire units into Rescue 1122, expansion of emergency services for rescue operations in mines and implementation of safety measures.
